I have two sets of bent forks would do you guys reckon I should be paying for straightening them if they are loose from the bike.
Other thing is anyone know anyone in london who straightening them
Many Thanks

Depends how bent.
I think there's a guy around here who does it for between £20-40. Or at least that's what I was told so don't hold me to it.
Not very helpful, but its late and MEH!

Cheers good link
was speaking to a bike mechanic yesterday about some discs and he said that since last year genuine suzuki parts have often been cheaper than pattern parts.
i priced up some pattern discs on the web, he rang suzuki and they were £20 cheaper each!

Yep. there is a reason Sv's are a low insurance group. not all pattern parts are cheaper and very often inferior too.
Straightening out forks? After seeing Sean C's forks I wouldn't even consider it.

Get them replaced mate, not repaired.

I'm assuming that there's at least one story here that I'm unaware of. That said I do know of 2 sets of SV forks that were straightened and caused no further problems at all. If they're proper bent then it's not going to happen, a good workshop should tell you that they won't straighten them if they're past a certain point. Most forks don't end up bent by much, and IMO can be safely repaired.

IMO i wouldnt straighten forks however bent or not bent they are. They may not appear to be creased, but surely straightening them would weaken the material?

Got them done at motoliner for £20 a leg, seems a good job. Havent ridden on track with them yet but they are definatley straight, certainly much cheaper than new ones.
I did speak to the guy about the effects of staightening and he said it depends on condition but normally after they have been done twice you probaly would need to replace them. He also told me to mount them a rotated 90 degrees so if they get bent again its a diffrent spot.
Given that the forks are soft I dont think that metal fatigue from a single bend is going to be a huge problem

i have had a few things done by them now, not on the bike as they wouldnt do the front subframe, but on my car stuff like, a towing frame and a car towbar
