View Full Version : What did you get up to today?

Seen as how the forum is soooo quiet I am assuming everyone is out on their bikes? So where did you go, what did you do?

Me personally have just got back from Hein Gericke in Luton. Was a bit quiet for a 'open day' but I did try on a Arai Helmet and have now decided I need to get a better helmet.

But had a nice ride getting to and from Luton.

Last night I also bought a Beowulf exhaust to replace my Standard Can as it is the first thing anyone says when they see my bike :)

i did exactly the same.

seems they got blown out by bennets and arai....

Dad took me out on his VFR. Baring in mind I haven't been on a bike for 3 months and he last time I did I wrecked my bike, I was nervous.. He's fast but happy to keep to 80, but I was terrified. Not looking forward to my first few rides once I'm on the road :-(

Nah,not out on the bike:( my OH is away from fri dinner til sat t-time on some kind of pamper day at a health farm with her mate,so's i,m on babysitting duty entertaining my 2 boys(8+4).

Man,i hope it's fine tomorrow,but i believe they've given thunderstorms.

If so,all's not lost......it's moto gp day:cheers:

I always find being on the back of something going so fast is terrifying but its a lot different being in control of it. Does that make sense?
I hope you start to look forward to getting out on the bike and building yourself up again.
I reckon finishing putting a Gixxer front end on will perk you up. :) How much is that costing you to swap the front?

mowed the jungle (aka lawn), trimmed the forest (aka hedge), swept the lot up and dealt with massive spiders in the process. Spoke to a mortgage adviser at halifax, went to see the dream house down the road again. Had a chat with the seller, he's going bankrupt. Now I'm making plans with greek and/or others to get down squires cafe to watch the gp tomorrow lunchtime, after a curry night at my mates house in west yorkshire tonight.

All systems go!

Mr Speirs, I bought a job lot for 500 quid. Then found that the discs weren't any good, so had to spend a good bit more on top. With other things, I've probably spent about 1300 quid on the bike in the past 3 months.
Yeah it makes sense.. We did the B1040 and I was terrified, but then the B645 is a bit wider and I felt a bit better.. I got off at Grafham water and I was shaking :(

:D to be honest the only time I slow down is when I'm on my bike lol. The one time when I get to switch off from everything in my life apart from what's happening right in front of me (and behind)... Gotta love it :)

I selpt in till 12, which was annoying because I was meant to pick up a parcel from the post office which shuts at 11.30. I think it is my new yamaha throttle.
Went out for a blast about 1.30pm. Really enjoyed myself. I went exploring the smallest country roads I could find, to avoid the dually. Had to sneak along a cycle lane when I got to a dead end. Then went for some faster roads and was really in the "zone":p
Went up my favourite local road - up to Glen Clova:cool: then headed round towards brechin. Stopped for a bit to look at the ace view. Then headed for home.:-D

Well...in the early hours I was busting out my moves on a dance floor in a club in Reading. Slept a little bit, found a way to get home and then dossed about all day on the computer doing insurance quotes etc.

Now off to BBQ, where I expect drink will be present! :)

Booked the ferry today, leave on Monday. Hope I've packed everything I need. Eek. I'm more or less going where the wind takes me. I do have GPS but don't really intend to use it.

Course there will be a write-up. ;)

2. Cleaned bike
3. Took bike out for petrol
4. Went to Belfry for a beer

Left home at 8.15 this morning for a nice 35 mile run to get new rubber fitted. Chilled out at the unit and caught up with old mates for a few hours. Called in at my Mum's on the way to Stratford, then just chilled out and caught up with more old mates.

Had our first ride home in the dark on the Duke. The lights are pretty good! Got home just before 10pm:D

Took my 5 year old son, Luke, up the road to Glentress Trail Center on his new bike and we hit the freeride area. He's completely fearless and was getting both wheels off the ground after about 30 minutes! I was a proud dad today. I'm massively into mountainbiking and I've been trying not to push him too hard, but it seems like he's getting a real taste for it.

Well I can now add going round a mate house n drinking stella then going to the pub and winning 3 games of pool and losing 1. Then being quizzed by police about a murder that happened behind the pub I was at then climbing a wall outside the courts which was twice as high as me. By the way getting down from the wall was much harder than getting up it.

Yesterday took my niece to Brum to meet her dad. He and I are actually starting to get on - after 10 years of cold war - so that's pleasing. In evening went for a few drinks with DMC-SV and Chris numbers - Chris has just moved here from London. Today, quick trip around south Shropshire, ended up at Quatt. Called in on said Chris on way home but either he was out for brekkie with DMC or else he had a massive hangover (the latter more likely after the amount he put away last night:D). Now tipping down so that's me home for the rest of the day:(

ah, glad he's being looked after (the org transfer scheme seems to work pretty well), although lord knows what his mum will say about the drinking ;)

I spent the day studying, having lunch with a dear but terminally ill friend:(, and then studying some more. And now I'm having another quick break from studying befor eI do some more. Exams in 5 weeks [-o<
