Not sure if I would leave my helmet resting on the tank like that though

I was out on a ride with someone that had one of them last week. Looks sexy:cool:
Makes a hell of a noise when it firsts pulls away (slipper clutch maybe??)
The exhaust was so loud it set off car alarms just riding past them

I liked the 1098R i saw at the ace a while back.
Then the bloke started it up.
Oh, it was a bag of spanners; was ok when he rode off, but that dry clutch noise is just horrible!
Had a look at one of those at ducati manchester a while back, they look great till you get close up, then like kwak said really.

Ducati have made a cut out for muppets like that to leave there helmets on there tank.... it fits perfect on there it'll never fall off honest :D!

It's the sound of the dry clutch that makes me so desperately want a 748 or 998

1098s have a wet clutch.

Ducati still have the problem that they have yet to make a bike that looks better than the 748/916 range. The Desmodici is no exception however much it costs and however good it is.
And another vote for the dry clutch orchestra here!As Niel Diamond said---Its a beautiful noise.

You does realise that these babies go for over 40k Kwak? One on ebay recently was up to 55k.

1098 and 1098S have dry clutches. The 848 has a wet one although apparently there are kits available to convert them as peeps miss the rattle. :smt020 Dunno what a 1098R uses though.

My mistake, I was under the impression all the new models had a wet clutch.

Last two trackdays at Eastern Creek, I have seen had both Desmo and 1098R running. Both incredibly lovely bikes with incredibly large price tags. As much as I would love a 1098R, I doubt I would enjoy taking it on the track as much as my 675 as the expense of binning it would be permanently at the back of my mind. Then again, if I was to spend that much on a bike in the first place, then I would probably have the readies kicking around to be able to fix it!
Yeah... The dry clutch is just a Ducati thing. I think it's an acquired taste really... I don't hate it, but I still think it sounds a bit like a chain saw... ;)
I was blessed to see the Desmo in person as well:

And the owner of this bike races it at the local track so it gets ridden the way it's was designed for. :)

Yeah, I saw a Desmo stack it under brakes in a straight line at Oulton. Guy just shrugged it off and stuck it back in the van.

That's sweet! Cheap delivery to Liverpool too. Although it probably wouldn't be there when you went to pick it up ;)
Where you would a tail pack though? :D

:( with your build up I was expecting a naked model to be draped across in at least one photo

Is it just me or do all those lumps and bumps on the left hand side of the fairing make it look a complete mess?
I dont think Id dare take it out for fear of binning it. You would think with a £40k bike you would put the helmet elsewhere (Shark helmet looks nothing special either)

Ah but Stoner has one so is this rich bloke tying to be Stoner?
