Just been out on the bike for a 127 mile round trip. It rained. A lot. In buckets. And I got so soaked, when I got home even the undies had to come off! (Hubby was please about that of course ;))

But even though it was slinging it down it was bloomin' great! I was quite apprehensive of riding in the wet but the bike was just going round corners without fuss or bother, not even a whisper of grip lost. Fabulous.

Next time I will wear the wet suit and stay toasty and warm :)

Trace :)

...says the person who refuses to ride in the wet in case his bike gets dirty;)

I went out and it was dry on the way out. Wet on the way back. I dont like the wet much. Purly because the bike seems to enjoy spinning the rear wheel at every opportunity! 5th gear 3K revs a fair amount of throttle wheel spin. Going onto motorway 4th gear MAJOR wheel spin (bouncing off of rev limiter type :().

Watch out for Diesel too sigh.

Anyway im glad you enjoyed it... Don't suppose there is any pics of you in wet knickers :p

Ok im leaving.

There are , but hubby keeps them in his private collection ;)

But seriously, do you think you have probs with wet weather riding cos of the tyres or the rev happy nature of your bike (I am assuming you don't have an Sv)? I was deliberately keeping the SV in one higher gear than normal today to make sure any power went down more gradually. I also have the boggo factory fitted Dunlops and they seem pretty ok too. Much better grip than the shockingly bad in the wet tyres I have on the Mini in fact.

Doh to first bit... :p

Well i dont know. I mean at 3K in 5th ill have been doing about 40 I guess. The road surface wasnt the best, kinda shiny looking so perhaps that was the reason for that one. The other one getting onto the motorway... im not too sure, I mean it has a fair amount of torque to it does pound the tyre pretty hard. You shouldnt have the same issue on an SV, I did only on one occation in 25K miles.

Watch out for diesel in the wet! Soooo slippy, I slipped off just by taking in the slack on the front on diesel (my tires on it were CRAP though so that probably didnt help...) :( Take care in the wet though and you will be fine!

The tyre's have done about 8K miles now, they are Pilot Road 2's so are fairly good in wet, but maybe the rear is getting ready for another. BTW get some better tyre's when you wear those out, they are poor. I recommend pilot road 2's. Brilliant for all riding and last well!

Take care,

Nick
