If someone received a single hard blow to the forehead that made them feel sick, dizzy and almost faint at the time but now they feel dizzy, sick, disorientated and have a nice swelling to the head ..... would it be safe say say they may have mild concussion and just to rest?
Anyone suffered concussion?

As Hovis said get to hospital. Head injuries should always be examined by a Doctor as seemingly minor symptoms can actually be very serious. I would get checked out just to be sure.

sure its not just the 48hrs of drinking shell thats causing the dizzyness and sickness? give yourself time to soba up then see how you feel.

31-08-08, 05:49 PM
Yes it sounds like concussion but as mentioned any head injury should be checked out. At least the swelling is on the outside and visible which bodes well! Any blurred vision is an indication that it could be more
dont worry its just the roofies wearing off. The bump is from where you fell when they kicked in.

if theres a bump then that aint too bad, if theres a dent then you've got a problem. my kids bump their heads a million times a day, cold sponge, monitor them and dont let them sleep!!!!

I OK just when I move my head it feels like my head is moving and my brain is a second behind, weird and my ears feel odd. I think I will have a kip and see how I feel in a bit, maybe just over tired from a heavy w/e of booze.
If it's concussion I want it to stay, someone at work told me I was quiet today, they was happy lol

Right you listen hear young lady.
Get your self checked out as quick as you can, although a bump is miles better than a dent, there could be underlaying problems that our mk1 eye balls just can not see.
And after you listened to me, and gave me advice earlier in the year (of which i am in your debt). So go get it checked out, just think you may find a fit doctor or a male nurse.

I can't get time off work and docs are closed by time I get home, will try and finish early Friday. I am meant to be on town tonight but I took easy option and stayed in, altho I am not feeling 100% I am feeling better.
Lump not gone down but I don't expect it to, it's solid. Thanks for advice guys, it will be checked out.
surely your work allows you time of for doctors appointments - especially if its affecting you or your work and a head injury is serious

You have to take into consideration how you got the bump on your head.
I would definately recommend that you get medical advice as soon as possible as you dont know if there is any long term damage. (you being blonde probably wouldn't notice the difference - *stands back waiting for slap*)
Get is checked Shelly either doctors or phone NHS 24 for advice.

I don't want to put a a downer on things as you're feeling better but just in case it helps someone in the future my Dad fell over earlier this year and had concussion symptoms very similar to yours. He refused an ambulance but was unconscious a few hours later and unfortunately never regained consciousness. I miss him very much.
I really would implore any of you with symptoms like this to go to hospital immediately, please :(

OK head was very bad today, pain behind my eye and my vision was well wobbly so my Sgt kindly took me to the local hospital. There is no A&E but a minor injuries clinic so was in and out within half an hour.
Was checked over and told to take paracetamol, so all OK. Going to sleep it off, mild concussion. But they checked my ears and found them to be red and inflamed and in my right one they found some white membrane type thing which they said wasn't a foreign body nor wax and to go to my docs to get it checked out..... why could they not look deeper lol.
So my cotton wool ears are due to that !
Thanks for your advice guys, at least I know I am OK and just a bit dazed by my w/e antics. xxx

tramadol ain't a good idea chick. Knock ya out. I'd get yourself checked out pronto if its been going on so long. Im Indoors could only handle one tramadol a dose...and Stewie lost half a day on em, when his back gave up. They can make you feel really woozy and ill too.

I kinda feel immune to tramadol, i was on 8 a day plus co-codomal which did knock me out, but then I came off them as I felt it was too much. Still had some left over and decided to give them a try as my head hurts so much.
I been the hospital and they say I am all OK, just need to take painkillers. I am gonna go back me thinks. Maybe vodka is the best thing LOL (joke).

8?:shock: my god was someone trying to make you ill? Matts doses were a max of 2 per dose and a maximum of 2 doses per day, after his hip replacement. I had the same when I got given em....thats pretty heavy sh!!t to be taking that much. I'd leave em alone if i were you. OH Shelly - I still think the rugby player scenario was much better!!!
Get yourself back to the Hospital and get checked out sooner rather than later.
I'm very relieved that you eventually managed to get a doc to see to you Shelly :)
And to everyone who keeps torturing the poor girl with requests as to how she managed to injure herself, I have only one thing to say - just let it lie and stop raking up the past.

You're making me sound like an alchi.
Story goes I have a mate puttin up my metal shed for Zuky and I was worried that there was too much work for them so I decided to tackle the "overgrown" area myself. Since my arm isn't 100% recovered from op it started to hurt so I drank some vodka thinking I would get it done faster, painfree. Kinda worked til the rake got in the way.
Vodka makes you do silly things, to try and get rid of the overgrown greenery that wouldnt fit in the garden waste bin I tried to burn it, got thru alot of matches before I gave up LOL :smt083

Petrol usually helps in that case. Though probably wouldn't of been the best idea whilst drunk/tipsy!
:grouphug: for the head injury, and at least it was done in a comical way (maybe not for you though).
