Hi there,
Removed the front cam chain tensioner today due to rattle noise. Followed all the instructions about retracting the plunger and removing the complete unit. Manufactured a retaining tool to hold it inplace while i screwed the tensioner back into engine. I had to physically push the tensioner back into its place against whatever it pushes down and screw the bolts in, now when i removed the retaining tool the plunger did not move at all. It is free to move when out as i cleaned it and checked it would return.
Should whatever it is pushing against be tight up against the tensioner when putting it back into the engine?
Any thoughts?
