OMG - what have I done ?

As some of you might know, my kids play in a band called the www.cheshirecadets.org (http://www.cheshirecadets.org) and next year we are organising our own band competition in Warrington, the upshot is that I have been asked to compere the comp with between 400 and a 1000 people poss turning up on the day, and Ive agreed to do it :shock: any hints or tips so I dont lurch into a bout of nerves induced tourettes ?

Ive got to spend about 8-10 hours behind a mic,announcing bands on and off the field.Plus adding bits and pieces of small talk to the crowd etc

Ah. sounds daunting, the bit about small talk. But introducing bands, thats not so bad, just hype it up a bit and it'll go ok!

its a schoosh! you be more than capable - if i can do it for hundreds of ned then you can do it for your lot - Have faith and get the the bands to write out little bits of trivia for you and don't be afraid of silence bewteen the bands - you don't and shouldn't talk constently shows you are nervous!

i do think my outfit distracted my crowd though
