Sorry, I know this should be in the ancillaries section but wanted some (quick) advice on the Hein Gericke PS Classic and PSX leathers.

The classic leathers are, well classic leathers, however the PSX ones have an elasticated patch on the bend on the inside of your elbow (what is that part of your arm called?) so you can bend your arm more easily without the leathers pinching.

I'm concerned that this patch will let water through, I know leathers aren't completely waterproof, but light showers shouldn't get you soaked, yet it looks like this elasticated patch would let water in straight away.

So....any advice/experience from the trusty .orgers on this one? I've ordered 2 x sets today (the PSX ones for me, classics for Nobbylass) and wanted to double check with people here so that if I want to change my mind, I can phone them tomorrow.

Thanks in advance!

I've got the psx ones and you're right the elasticated sections do let water through but they do fit better so it's a question of which is more important to you.

Thanks mate, I know, dilemma, will the classics soften up sufficiently for me to feel comfortable, or do I just accept I'll get a bit damp if it rains!?

the inside of your elbow (what is that part of your arm called?)

It's called the antecubital fossa.

I've recently bought the PSX leathers to replace my formula III suit that was wrecked when I had my off. Unfortunately I've not worn them yet as the bike's still in bits.

PSX stuff is real quality. Had a set for about 3 years and did their job when they were required.

Definitely buying a new set from HG when I get around to it.
