Flooding the engine

Was out tonight over to a very, very wet East Kilbride, whcih as anyone from EK with tell you has it's on weather fronts.

Anyway got absoolutyely soaked in a 5min spell and had to run the bike through a extremely large puddle. At one point the head lights appeared to have gone out, but I think they poss. were under water or very close to it. Kept the revs high and managed to get through the lake.

Arrived eventually at the parents house, had a coffee and then went out to start the engine and everyhing seemed fine My dad then ran me in his car to the place and fold that a Corsa got stuck in the middle of the puddle (almost a lake) this only after 30 mins later., then ran her home and again every thing was good.

Suppose the question is, is there anything to wory about in the future in terms of wear and tear or anything like that?

Nah, it's a sealed box, unless you let water get in the top you're fine. Other than the wet front plug issue that is, SVs like to lose the front cylinder temporarily if it gets sprayed with enough water. Ask Blue Flame about this one. Also, the front plug tends to get quite corroded if this happens more than once.

Ooops, of the last two hundred miles I think 190 have been done on one cylinder, and looking at the weather for the next couple of days I think the next 120 miles are going to be much the same :(

The village curtain twitchers are starting to raise eyebrows at the number of times I approach the bike with a tub of vaseline in hand :rolleyes: Getting fed up of it now, if the bike wants to behave like a rat then it's gonna get treated like a rat, it's running through winter whether it likes it or not...

RE90X, it's a tube not spray, very thick. I'd be very surprised if you have a problem again with this stuff in, on new year's day this year i rode home through flooding with no mudguard on :rolleyes: I got very, very wet but the bike kept going fine.

I was running on one cylinder before (about 2months ago) replace the front plug so everything should be fine and probably helped on Tuesday night!!!
