hey

i noticed recently that when i release the clutch (when in neutral) a new sound comes from below. its not loud or sounds nasty, just like somthing is moving/running with the tickover.

am not sure if this sound has always been there (and meant to be) but it concerns me. i am realtively new to bikes and have no knowledge of the mechanics behind them.

my bike has done 2500 miles and have only noticed it since i have been taking the misses out on pillion a fair few times (not saying she weighty or anything! can't see this any way but just incase)

any help is greatly appreciated.

Are you saying that when the bike's running in neutral, that pulling in the clutch lever in creates some additional noise? If this is the case I'd accept a little extra noise, but nothing dramatic.

the sound starts when i realease the clutch in neutral (at stand still). the sound then goes when i pull the clutch in again.

Is it a rattle? how well adjusted is your clutch? could just be the vibrations rattling something, and hen you pull the clutch in it takes up that free movement to stop it rattling with the engine vibes

I think we need a idea of what the 'sound' is, maybe something we could compare it to, as bikes to make alot of noise.

wouldn't quite call it a rattle but come to mention it could be somthing like that cause it does seem to be in time with the engine. best i can write the sound (this is gonna make it loads clearer no doubt) is a 'brrrrrrrrvvvvv' vibey sound - alsmost like a small quiet old engine is running along with main engine.

ha i think it is one of those things that i will have to let someone who knows more about bikes than me have a listen. will ask one of the guys when i do first IAM next sunday.

They all do it to some extent, the best thing is to listen to another SV and see what that ones like.
