Been trying to find a good tank to replace my leaking one (brether pipe that runs through the tank has rusted through) on my curvy for a while now without any luck, most are in a bad way or the wrong colour ( can't see it worth spending lots of cash on a good tank and then spend £100's more to have it painted)

Has anyone fitted a tank from another bike to an SV or does anyone know of any that might fit with a small amount of work (get this done a work) thinking TL? ....something that's not going to rot again (perhaps not suzuki then)

Or have I completely lost the plot?:smt115

small amount of work

There was a thread on here recently about the drain pipe.
I think the fix was to put a scottoiler ( or similar ) tube down the drain & araldite both ends.
This may push some rust into the tank, so a quick swill may be sensible.
Search would give you chapter & verse & this looks like a lot less work ( & expense ) than your alternatives.
Best of luck with it!

I have thought of sleaving the pipe, but I would like a more permanent solution.

I have a spare tank. It's for a curvey...but I'm nowhere near Kings Lynn, nor am I due to be in the next couple of months. It is light blue, brand new, never used.

Sleeve the pipe it's worth a go, can't remember who dunnit but it did work. Use plenty araldite on it and it be good as new (use fuelproof pipe though)
