I saw some of this ages ago. It's hilarious. Though I do think it's a little unfair- he was clearly bamboozling them with his Aussie accent- they even needed subtitles!!

I remember reading somewhere years ago that Africa begins at Calais for most British people so that puts the yanks firmly in their place

Hey, for some of us it begins in Hackney!

I've been to the states a few times, and I confused them by saying cheers instead of thanks. Just kept looking at me funny, so I kept doing it. I also would occasionally slip into a 'Isle of Wight' or 'posh' accent just to mix it up a bit more.
Oh such fun.

I was going to say Chesterfield but did not want accusations of racism and Xenophobia chucking my way

Yes got to agree with that - we have an English friend who lives in Michigan and she says that the news on the TV there contains very little overseas news. Sort of like the USSR under communism except the yanks just seem very, very blinkered

There is a britsh version as well. But they ask mostly Kids or foreigners lol. Also the overtaking question is kinda a trick question... If you overtake the guy in 2nd, do they mean in 2nd after you overtake them, in which case all these people are right. Do they mean You overtake from 3rd in which case you will be in 2nd...

I believe it is the middle England style accent that they love. Not sure how they'd react to a Yerkshire one though. :D
