right, the clutch is making a squeaking noise after about 10 15 mins on my way to and home from work.

any ideas why it could be squeaking, sounds as if i have a mouse in there running it for me

btw its a 2001 curvey version!!

How do you know it's the clutch?

when you pull the clutch in the noise goes and when your let the clutch out it comes back, dosent matter what speed your doing its there and no matter what gear its in as well

its coming fromt he left hand side of the bike as you sit on it and sounds more to the front of the bike than that back..

I concure with YC here - check the chain; the squeeking could be from the chain being under load (acceleration / deceleration). if you ride at a constant speed, does the squeek still persist?

It could also be the mechanism down on the LHS near the front sprocket, theres a little spring there that might have got rusted. Take the cover off to reveal the front sprocket, and check the state of the mechanism that operates the worm drive. Give it a good sqiurt with WD40, clean, then oil it up or something

At constant speed, you're still delivering power to overcome rolling resistance and drag.

Er, the worm drive and associated components aren't moving unless the clutch lever is being moved at the time, does not spin with engine, won't make a noise.
