I know some might be getting bored of seeing Aberdeen news up here but I'm determined to make folk take notice and join in with us!!:smt026
Last night was, again in my eyes, a success!
We changed things a bit and shifted from the coastal runs to one that took us up the Dee valley. I think I opened some eyes - especially when riding in the dark and realising that there actually was a corner there
- to the great roads in this area.
We had four last night, two folk wishing to be out with us also but couldn't make it due to feeling flat(Baz's mate) or others feeling the need to play with small balls( Kwak Chris and his squash commitments).
I don't know about anyone else but I felt nice and knackered once home, however couldn't sleep as my google brain kept going through alternate routes. I will def have something planned for next Thursdays run, Here comes the usual -
THURSDAY 6PM ABERDEEN BEACH LEISURE CENTRE ICE RINK CAR PARK - LEAVING 6.30 SHARP!!
Anyone needing contact details can PM me.
We now have a place where we can procure our spears - or we will once Ad53 burns down the woodland with his new flame throwing trick- courtesy of Dyzio. So be warned our lunge shots will be dramatic!!:smt065
Despite the darkness coming in faster and faster(helped by my wonderful sense of cloud seeking) and the onset of the darker nights, we will keep riding til whenever!!
We are still looking for names for the group, mainly cause it's a laugh to see what you all think and also cause it makes us feel like there are others reading these posts and not just the 4 org members who were out last night.
To those who were on the run stick suggestions comments and statements of any form on here so others can see we are having the best time right now
Cheers
Cumfy
Hey folks, here's the Cumfy update for those who didn't join us on Thursday.
First, guys I want to thank you all for turning up!! The weather was lousy, but it in no way dampened the spirit of the night, which to me was great. It was pretty obvious from the start we were going to get dumped on, but no one turned round and went home. YAY!!:D
So a roll call of honour for those who braved the elements -
AD53, BAZ, C3HUD, DYZIO, oh and myself!!
The night had some highlights that we will happily - or feel at least we should warn others - about. The first was the banter the whole time was great.
AD53, you may have notice got a shot in a TL - sorry guys had to mention it -and for some reason he can no longer function in a normal manner!! His life force has been absorbed by it and his world has become all things TL related. I think he actually talks in his helmet " the TL could have done this, and that , and that....." Poor Ad53. Still at least he can't afford one, yet!!
C3HUD, did turn up which was great, he cancelled playing with his small balls - squash - to join us, despite the weather. His bike did look a bit sorry for itself with ALL that dirt and the flies on it, don't worry mate, am sure by the time we got back, after all the rain, your bike was thoroughly cleaned my Mama Nature herself!
So after heading off in the drizzle we went inland to Alford, however as Baz commented, he was sure my nose had taken us, again, directly to the biggest, blackest cloud around, which also had lots of rain in it. In my defence, nah you're right mate, seems I can't help it!!
We found a nice pub, mainly cause it was bang in the middle of the town, even Ad53 could have found it- and decided a warm up, a cuppa and a descision session was in order.
One pot of tea, two coffees and a couple of cokes later, the spirits were high, the banter flowing, no descisions were made, but no one cared. Was now pretty dark, so thought about doing an about turn rather than the planned route, to come out and find the rain was now chucking down!!
So a shorter night than planned, but a success made by those who turned up!
Oh and the burgers at the end weren't bad either! Funny how those scoooter boys took off after the four of us - C3hud had parted company by this point, places to be, eh mate - rolled up at the BK.
Good to see all got home and sent msg to each to say safe, cause I don't know about the others but I felt knackered by the time I got back.
Look forward to next week, I might not be on here much as I have a weeks holiday, so will be preoccupied by my son for the week, but will sort a route for next Thursday.
The Tuesday night is good for me, also, so if it looks like it's a go, can someone text me on Monday,BAZ, so I know what the details are, cheers mate.
If you want me to have thought of routes for then, I can, have, thanks to google brain, and look forward to the possibilty of extrra meets.
No end of season stuff planned yet, cause up here we usually only have two seasons, the wet one, and the cold, wet one. I foyu want me to do a weeknender, will get on it. Might be end of October as things are a bit nuts for me over the next wee while.
Sorry, so long but there was so much banter going on and I barely covered half of it, so get yourselves along to -
the Aberdeen Beach Leisure Centre, Ice Rink car park, Thursdays, 6PM, leaving 6.30
Cheers:smt026
As promised http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u95/ad53ggz/tl8.jpg More can be found here:http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?p=1639488#post1639488 wouldnt recommend looking on your phone dyziowg!!
Morning all, well today is unfortunately not a good write up regards last night.
Let's start at the start and go from there, Baz and I met at HG looked in at the luggage and got a very flat and unhelpful response from the staff, given we were willing to shell out a reasonable sum of cash I asked if there was a sniff of discount available as it had been hinted at. The answer categoric, NO!!
Left with our cash still intact and deciding someone a bit more informative and friendly can have it.
Went down to the meet point and Ad53 and Dyzio joined us. All were surprised by the mild, good weather, we should have realised something was wrong!!
We took the usual route out of town and onto the Netherly road where Ad53 did his usual and lead the charge, however it seemed strange, because as he went to overtake his charge became a stumbling shuffle.
We got into Stoney and Ad53 found his chain so slack, almost off that even I could see it was an issue!
One quick tightening later and we hit the Slug. Ad53 and I took the lead with Baz and Dyzio at the tail.
Ad53 and I pulled in at the next stop point to see no one behind, we'd been seperated by traffic but after a couple of minutes, concerns began. Next thing Baz is on the blower and Dyzio is down. :( Told not hurt but bike is in a field!!
AD53 and I nip back and find them with Dyzio on the verge and Baz having called the ambulance service. Not much we could do at the scene but make him comfortable and keep out of the way of the proffesionals. Big thanks to the ambulance crew who mad sure Dyzio was in the best of hands.
Dyzio was taken off to ARI and his brother was called and told what was going on and where he was headed.
The police turned up, took details and stayed to wait for yje recovery vehicle. Has to be said, I thought they were a bit off with us, saying we should know more about the folk we ride with and seeming miffed because they were at the sen of another accident, apparently there had been a lot that night, sorry but that's not our fault.=;
So we gear up and head back to Aberdeen, going the Dual carriage way for ease. Nearing the town and I can't change gear! my shift de-threaded and was hanging off. Not good, pulled in and Baz and Ad53 got the tools and mended my ride quick and proper.
Back to BK for some grub and a warm up, and then as all felt worn out it was a push for home.
All got back and messaged each other as usual, Dyzio's brother who we'd been in contact with sent me a text to let me know Dyzio awas ok been x-rayed and looked like he'd dislocated his ribs!! No other damage as far as they knew and Dyzio would get out today.
In refection a very different run from norm.
So Dyzio, get well soon mate, hope you aren't feeling too bad and we will try not to tell you any jokes and make you laugh!!
Best wishes, mate!
Cheers:smt026
Thanks guys, for helping me yesterday and for the support.
Got out from the hospital today, x-ray showed nothing broken, but 2ribs are... moved(??) or something.
I feel a bit better now, but still in a fair bit of pain. The Knox did a good job. I'll be staying at my brothers' place for a few days.
Still I think, I should consider myself lucky...
I've managed to locate the bike, will try to go and see it in the next few days.
Now, maybe you can tell me... how bad is it???
Have we heard your crash story yet? Or did I miss it?
If you haven't heard it at the weekend here goes. Embarrassing, but maybe someone will learn from it.
Main problem - I got over confident.
The ride was going brilliant, corners were disparaging one after another. It got dark, and I haven't listened to the voice telling me to slow down. I was following Baz, got into a blind corner which tightened up :(. Baz kept cool, leaned over more and drove on, I did the stupid thing and tried to brake a bit with the rear. Bike stood up, the wheel locked and the whole thing started shaking and went straight. Don't know if there was anything I could have done at that point.
Took off, and that's it.
I remember hitting something with my head (probably the screen and brake reservoir), landing, and struggling to breathe. Back hurt as f****.
Baz turned around, help me out of the ditch.
Still need to thank everyone for helping me that night.
That's more or less it. Was lucky to escape "only" with 2 dislocated ribs :smt059
Still trying to fire the bike up properly. If you have any idea what can be done, have a read here (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?p=1668107#post1668107). Any advice will be appreciated.
Cheers.
Probably has wifi in phone,
As for myself and the Ice cream run... I'm better, so I'm tempted. If more Spearies are going, who knows...
As for the bike, looks like it's all good :)
(anybody fancy doing some suspension set-up?)

Sorry for butting into this thread, but I have just been reading about dyziowg's trip to the Tatras (Eurotrip section). In August of this year I camped at Zakopane and did a few runs, one to Slovakia. The pictures are of the border between Poland and Slovakia. If nothing else they have some sunshine in them!! (really enjoyed reading about the exploits!).

Yup, I went for a wee trip home in June :)
It was just after I came back, you've helped me with the rear shock Aaron, so didn't know any of you guys back then.

Hey folks,
Thought I'd post up what happened on Monday so one and all knew what folks up here were going on about.
Well, the Monday was a gorgeous day inland and a meet was organised between me, my mate Sheps heading from Banchory; and saoralba and Juj, from up North, meeting in Bonny Braemar. :)
Met with them and got the maps out to see where we might end up. The route was Braemar to Granton of Spey, up to Forres, across to Elgin and back down via Huntly to Aberdeen to meet the other Spearies for an evening run.:smt023
Sounds good, in theory..... We had great weather and quiet roads all the way up to Forres. Smiles were on all our faces.
Then we came to Elgin and hit the traffic. (BOO) but undeterred and after one numpty in particular missing where everybody stopped, ( yes all right it was me](*,)) and going round the roundabouts twice we stopped in for a breather before fuelling up for the run down to Aberdeen, fine.
Juj broke away from the group to meet up with his OH and they'd meet us down in the town. Unfortunately 2 miles from Huntly in slow moving traffic Sheps bike went out from under him as he went to pass slow moving traffic - the theory is he caught the edge of a stone and it was enough to unbalance him and he was off!!
Fortunately we had loads of help roadside from passers by and thanks to the emergency services to were helpful throughout.Sheps was unhurt despite the way he looked - he looks like that at the best of time folks, and he recons the bungs took most of the damage to the bike. He reckons by the weekend it should be sorted, granting the couple of parts he needed are delivered in time!!
BIG THANK YOU'S!!!
So I never made it to the meet for the evening but thank you to all those who passsed on regards to Shepsand am sure he'll meet up with us again soon.
My question now is, when are folk free for a run next?
I will not be available for the Monday and Tuesday, as on the same day that all this went on my Gran passed peacefully awway with my Mum at her bedside, so naturallly I will be down Weegie way for the funeral.
So come on folks get going and get out there. Looking forward to future runs and hopefully without any of the drama of Monday past but with a lot more fun and enjoyment awaiting us.
Cheers:smt026
PS, I now have my mobile working again same number as before anone needing t can PM me theirs and I'll text back, nut I think I've sent text to most already!:smt023

Hi all,
Trying again for the write up for Monday, plus a quick question, ass Baz has already stated, -
Anyone up for a run tonight???
Anyway back to the matter at hand, firstly it was a great day and hope all enjoyed as much as I did.
Those present were Baz, Dyzio, Saoralba, and myself. Ad53 you were missed.
We had a slow start to the day after Dyzio realised his rather nice Aprilia had a rather low amount of oil, so off to HG andthe Yam and Honda dealers in Aberdeen to find his oil and get him sorted, this allowed us to go round showrooms and enjoy browsing while he sorted himself out.
Oh how we put ourselves out there for a mate, having to look at all those nice, new, shiny bikes!!
So an hour after we intended leaving, we hit the road and did the traditional circuit of South Deeside and over to Netherley, to Stoney for a breather then on down the infamous Slug, with Dyzio completing it with a grin on his face! Turning off at Crathes, we headed down to the Feughside Bridge for a poring over of maps and a bit of banter, Saoralba already asking when we were stopping for food( well he is a student)?
From there we headed over to Strachan and ontho the Feughside Inn and over the hills to Potarch, then continuing on the south of the Dee all the way up to Ballater. No body on the roads and it was still dry, amazing.
A quick chat at Ballater made us push on with a rumble following us, no not thunder, Saoralba looking for food! He was rewarded, as were we all by the grand fish and chips laid on at the Hungry Highlander by Carol. =D>
So once well fed, we rolled in the direction of Tomintoul and had a stop off at Lecht for a bit of lunging with photos to follow and then on down to Tomintoul. After a bit of dithering and an" I know the way lads" from a person who will not be named and shamed at this point ( no it wasn't me)
which resuted in the leader missing the first turning straight away!!!
We got on the RIGHT road and found a brilliant bit from Tomintoul across to Dufftown. Nice set of twisties and good straights to open up on.
A wee paused and Mickey taking at the Duff, then onto Huntly which would be our splitting point.
From Huntly Dyzio and I parted company with Baz and Saoralba, as they headed across country and we shot down the A96.
Until that point it had been dry but Mama Nature decided to remind us that Scotland can turn the weather on its head in a moment, by pouring down on us.
Despite that a grand day was had with good roads and plenty banter, just too much to put down here. The only way to hear more is to join us yourselves.
Cheers:smt026
PS thank you computer for not crashing

well saoralba has been re-named Sally. dont ask why it just happened :)
Hey folks,
Just to say what a great night I (and I hope the rest of you) had on last nights run. To get 7 of us out is a success in itself.
Those out were Baz, Ad53, C3hud,(who I mistakenly thought had sold his bike, apologies mate for that), Stewart. C, Sheps - a mate of mine who will be joining us more after his feedback, myself and Saoralba - who we have renamed SALLY. From this day hence we shall refer to you as this mate til you post a pic of your sister and finally let us and KG understand what is going on. Cheers doll.:D
So we did the usual circuit of South deeside to Netherley and across to Stonehaven. Banter stop at the beachfront and on down the Slug to Ad53's Puke point.
From there we headed to Drumoak for Baz to hand in his homework, hope you get good marks mate, especially as you had an entourage of us delivering it in tow!
Letting Sheps lead us through the back roads, we headed up to Garlogie and had a blast up the dualler back to town for grub at BK.
The banter and the run were great, sorry to Sally for all the abuse mate, you handled it well!!:smt021:smt090
Stewart hope to see you out for another run soon mate.
C3hud, good to see you as well mate, on a VERY shiny looking bike. Pablo must have been working hard to get it that clean:thumright:
Will be free for a run next Tuesday and will have a different route for us planned, google-brainTM will work out an alternate so folks don't get bored.
I think if we're going out in a group like that again we'll break into two smaller groups and as long as the lead riders knows where they are headed it should be smoother.
OK got to go back to work. Look forward to seeing you all at the next run.
Next Tuesday the 19th 6PM at the Beach Ice Rink!! (sorry bored of highlighting in red.)
Cheers:smt026
I don't mind the banter(abuse).
No pictures of the sister, so looks like I am now Sally.. :\

Why don't you guys start different threads re rides etc? Its super laborious trawling through everything and if one of the members were to be visiting the NE then they might be put off by the hundreds of posts you have. You guys all know one another but other forum members do visit your thread. It's hard to know where to begin!

Hey Guys, hows it going?
I am Mike, new to the forum and also up in Aberdeen, got a 2000 black curvy and am loving it. Unfortunately had a little off and low speed slide last weekend during a mammoth road trip round Scotland and currently the bike is off the road for repairs. :( No damage to myself (luckily) but the right hand side of the bike is quite scratched!
But as soon as I get it back again, I will come along to one of your meets and we go for a ride. Another Aberdeen member for the crew!! :p
Hey folks a cracking night last night and a good turn out. Those out were ad53, Baz C3hud, Sheps and myself.
Dyxio hope you are ok mate and look forward to catching up with you soon. Sally everyone was singing your praises mate and my congrats to you on Sundays big success, roll on next years Spearie IC!! - Still gutted I missed it mate.
After a bit of banter and fuelling up it was for the off, so here it is in a nutshell-
Went a new (and totally planned :---)) route last night,we did the usual Netherly across to Stoney then took the South coastal road down to Inverbervie, had a stop at the nice temp traffic lights that Ad53 decided to activate by getting off his bike and running up to, to activate!!:smt081
After a quick break in Bervie and realising what Bervie gave to the world,(see monument) we were off. We headed to Fordoun, where Bambi decided to check how fast C3huds reactions were - He passed!!:smt038( and so did Bambi unharmed)!
Then after figuring out which back road it was exactly, we crossed over to the Fettercairn road. Got up to the view point and had a good gander at the great roads laid out before us. (Lucky us)
Headed over the summit and down to Banchory. What a great stretch of road!:riding:
Headed straight out the North deeside to Aberdeen where folks peeled off for homeward bound.
Good banter and good run guys. Nice to see so many SVs with us as the line up was one pointy, a speed triple, a ninja, A TL and a streetfightered thundercat. :smt017. Sally need your point in the group again, and Dyzio bring that nice little italian bit with you as well mate( I mean the bike, but if you do know any nice Italians.......)anyway..lol
Cheers:smt026

Spearies of the world unite ;)
Spoke to cumfy as some of you will be aware about tidying up this thread a bit (to make it a bit less intimidating) so probably next week I'll start at the beginning and work my way through deleting as i go. I'll try not to remove anything that will retain benefit as time passes but cant promise anything, so if there is anything in particular you can think of that you'd like kept, go back and take a copy in case i delete it.
it will be next week before i start so you've time.
Cumfy, I can edit your first post to notify folks this will hapen periodically or you can. If you've not by next week i will ;)
To all spearies planing to go to the GMII. When are you leaving? What route are you going?
Just a thought on route,
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=AB42+4HJ&daddr=56.7736622,-3.4074578+to:Auchtertyre+House,+Crianlarich,+Stirl ing,+FK20+(Strathfillan+Wigwams)&hl=en&geocode=%3BFR5MYgMdnwHM_ynXdzRZrw6GSDFADP_hGWgMEw% 3BFWfAXAMdkPa4_yHKnfRDbsFjJg&mra=pe&mrcr=0&sll=56.415373,-4.647131&sspn=0.023407,0.076904&ie=UTF8&ll=56.938981,-2.340088&spn=1.477368,4.921875&z=8&via=1
Me, Sally and ad53ggz meet at Mintlaw, anyone leaving from Aberdeen meets us at Ballater.

Well spearies, i spent a bit of time last night (Insomnia's great) tidying up this thread as promised. I read every post before deleting or keeping it and think i've kept everything of significance, Dyz's off, the naming of sally etc. I've done up to the start of june, which is obviously still relevant.
I can (if you want) create a new thread purely for the talk of the AR and euro trip, and move all the relevant posts there (leaving banter for banter) or i can leave it where it is, your choice. If you read the first couple of pages of the thread and think something important has gone (Sally's sisters phone number for example) let me know and i can undelete it as nothing truly deletes, just gets hidden. You'l see the post count has dropped but the views have remained, Technically this is the 1249th post, Every time i tidy up i'll keep note so you'll now when it hits 2k 10k etc.
Have fun. KG

You could have deleted that as well (my off), bloody embarrassing :jocolor:](*,)
I think that Sally's sis' number and pics should be a separate sticky thread :D
Please, don't take it the wrong way mate, but I'm just curious, why all the work? You know we're going to fill this thread with banter again in no time ;)
There had been a few comments ocassionally that folk were actually getting put off because of the size of the thread and finding anythng usefull was "challanging" Its purely to make life a bit easier.
I've been doing it with a lot of other threads and with the ecosse section in general (Think i've deleted about 1000 old threads with no replies)
To be fair my sleep pattern has been shot to sugar since the hospital and an hour or two actually doing something usefull at 3am rather than reading through idle banter or all the new post threads seemed like a good idea.
If you do a search for something it will return a lot of hits 90% of which are useless. So by cleaning up old threads with no real value (ie lets plan a ride for next week, 50 posts later. great at the time but offers nothing usefull retrospectively) the results you get back from a search should actually be what you are looking for.
Same reasons as i've repopulated the weekly meets sticky and the biking contacts sticky. Purely to try and help.
As for filling it up with banter again, I hope so, otherwise what am i going to delete.
I had thought about doing a big delete of all stuff say over a year old or wuth less than 5 replies but decided to read everything first and make a post by post decision
Looks tidy :)
Maybe we should keep this as our Megathread/IB thread and create Eurotrip/Weekly meet/organisation for the GMII etc threads.
Would make it easier to find 'useful' infomation.
Clutch better, or still think its slipping a bit?
Baz whats this about bus lanes?
Bus lanes?
A kind police officer told me and about 6 other bikers that we should not be using bus lanes even when there is no bus there as we may end up blocking the lane. Never mind the fact that we were stopped while in the correct lane (granted it was a last minute change in lanes) and asked to pull over INTO the bus lane to receive an invite to contribute £30 each to the next police officer's BBQ.
:smt097

With the bus lane fine, I looked at mine this way- if someone offered me the opportunity to ride in bus lanes, and all I had to do was pay £30 once a year or so, I'd snap up the option ;) I've paid, oh, £90 I think now for the fines but I've saved days of riding time probably, bargain. Still a pain when they catch you mind.
Saor is packed and ready to go :)

That was scary :|
Back road from Longside to Stuartfield, round a corner at a fair chat, *** me its a ****ing tractor cutting grass taking up the whole bloody road
No time to slow down, had to squeeze through between a wall and a tractor, on a very slippy/bumpy/scary grass verge, at around the speed limit. Had images of the Golf vs wall + Jeep senario a few weeks ago...
No signs or anything to warn me off grass cutting. :smt091
Bar stewards.
No damage to me or the bike, thought that was it when I seen the tractor.
Just collected some vegatation/grass/branches. :(
Ride safe guys.
Be careful guys, I almost did a bike/tractor interface yesterday... Had enough time to brake, but they seem to be hiding behind corners now.

hello from the honnery speary right im going on a mission when i get off these f***ing crutches and have decided to do a run round the groups starting with the ecosse/ spearies im taking 14 days spending a night or two round each area of the org plan is-ride to destination then straight out for a rideout, into bar that evening then leave next afternoon to next destination, starting with you social handgrenades the working south along the east coast then back up the west coast home including wales
will be looking for a guide for the rideout and if poss a drinking buddy and place to crash (metaphoricaly) in each locale will fire up dates as soon as poss (when knee is working) so if you think you can help with any part of this or if your mental enough fancy doing it with me (warning it will be a winter run) give me a shout
sally this will not coinside with your birthday so relax
cheers dave
Sally shall be gracing you all with his presence.

Hey folks, am hoping to be around tomorrow, but have just had a family visit sprung on me - 3 cousins descending upon us with only 24hours notice!! Can't even turn them away as they are coming into the UK for the first time since the deportations!!:-dd
So I might not be out for long but will definitely make an appearance.:p
see you there

What is going on with this thread?? Where's all the Spearie 'history' gone?? When I first joined this forum, I felt I kinda got to know you guys a wee bit before I even had met any of you, because of all the nonsense on here???
I am good for a meet tomorrow, things have gone quiet lads, I don't like it :(
Arron you better be there, need to know about the holiday.
Only a blether tomorrow, got commitments tomorrow night.
Please say everyone is free a week on Friday? As I am 18 a week on Thursday, hitting Aberdeen on the 11th.
Unfortunatly big brother has censored all the ****e that we speil.. :)
Glad you've posted this Kate, it's nice to read that someone enjoyed our endless banter.
Unfortunately some people who don't have anything to do with the Aberdeen crew, never popped in for one of the regular meetings felt like they need to complain to the mods abut the lack of information in it and this thread was reduced to an absolute minimum and made us look utterly boring.
There could be a few reasons for the silence here, but I don't want to dig out past events. Things got quiet by accident, we didn't agree to stop posting or anything. We're meeting today, so this will get mentioned.
Again, we're meeting today at the usual (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=132132), as always everyone is welcomed, but I don't expect anyone else than the regulars.
Hi one and all,
Sorry to hear folks are not happy, Kate I shall endeavour to bring you all up to date with our adventures. I usually gave us a lengthy descript regards our excursions, however work curtailed that by getting busy and so the details fell to the side, sorry.
Some of the exploits that have ensued have been funny but have had little time to post so will try to change it!!!
If anyone asks, there is NOT a new unmarked vehicle in Aberdeen that follows the orgers. One of our lot got rather worried when he saw a small black vehicle charge after them and stick with them on one of our hoons only to find it was ME bored and stuck in the cage!:smt079
It has also been quiet due to the absence of Baz and AD53.:(
Hopefully we shall bring the banter hotline back to its former glory and have you all chortling at our comedy moments.:smt041:thumbsup:
Rght back to work, this is probably the longest post that's gone up here in a while, so watch this space!!!
All are welcome to join us if out and about, had a guy come in past work saying he had talked to me and then been on here, read the fun we got up to, and it convinced him to go for his bike liscence. He's sitting it today so good luck mate, hope you pass!!
Cheers:smt026
I've met c3hud in town yesterday, can you guess what he was doing?
Cumfy,
Any idea when the Stuartyboy run is taking place? You going no matter when? I'd join but it's date dependant so can't commit yet.
I'll pop in for few minutes today, will miss the ride though, gotta prepare the bike for the peaks run.
See you later.
Cleaning his bike? ;)
I am only in for a bleather and some food. Gotta be at Garthdee for 8pm.

Right you bunch.
I am going to be in the area from sometime on Friday until Monday morning.
Probably going to be going straight to my folks in Alford on the Friday, probably not out to play that night.
Saturday however is free, if anyone would like to come out to Alford and go for a ride from there, it would be great.
Sunday is the Grampian motorcycle show (http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.aspx/1347994?UserKey=), then on Monday I will be heading for home.
Will be good to see any of you that are around.
Sorry SK, I'm heading down for the peaks run.
I'll talk to the rest today, someone will have the tank spacers for you.
Dizzy I shall take the spacers.
SK, I should proably be free for a run on Saturday.
If you had made it next weekend, you could have come out for my birthday.
We shall discuss who else is free Saturday tonight.
boys tongiht i think im out seriously tired still damn jet lag will talk to you more soon

SK, dyz and I are heading south as you head north, could meet for a coffee if the routes/ timings overlap. provisionally we should be at the hartside top cafe about lunchtime, to give you a rough idea.

Unfortunatly big brother has censored all the ****e that we speil.. :)
Awww!:(:(
The discussion was our small banter thread tonight. If it mess's with the search result, what happens with all the other sections megathreads, the mega thread in IB, which is god knows how many 1000's of posts, and IB in general. They must really make the search function go breasts up. (Like my use of nice language? :))
How come our thread has to be moderated, but the others remain open and unedited(excluding swearing, being naughty etc)?

It's KG that does this modding, not myself- not that I disagree with it, just that I can't be bothered personally. Never had anyone complain/comment on comment in here at all to me. I think the big boss mods can mod every section but I don't think they ever do in here. There's no conspiracy as far as I know, but then, if it's a good conspiracy I wouldn't ;)
Big threads are a mess but it's always a balance. IB does get sporadically modded as it just gets too big for the system to deal with well but it does get to a point where a thread's 9/10ths old dead banter and the 1/10th of info gets lost. But it's hard to know what to keep and what to cull, sometimes the baby gets thrown too. So the point of teh IB threads is usually that it doesn't matter much
(KG always puts his reason for modding posts as "OCD" which makes I laff)
Theres no useful info in here, just banter.
The only useful thing was the guide to making a spear or spear-gun, which has went walkabouts.
cmon on now and the address to your house! damn jet lag cant sleep now lol
Basically, we "need" a thread for our own Spearie stuff. Now, all of our history is missing, even our famous "how to make a spear" guide got deleted.
As Sally mentioned, there are other banter threads in the regional sections, unfortunately for some reason, it's only our that got edited (from 1600 posts down to 60).
I've suggested a solution earlier, but haven't received a reply.
If you want to meet us, pop in to one of the regulars - we have yet to see someone other than the locals-, if we're doing a rideout (not a quick spin after work), it will get a separate thread.
This is the banter hotline, there is no useful information here, only pics of Sally's sis.
Can we make this our Spearie thread again?

Tempting, but I would ideally be across the border by lunchtime, I am stopping off @ Daveprestons which is only about 8 miles from Hartside Top.
Would have been good to catch up tho.

Hey folks, well here comes another round up of the Spearies meet last night.
Those present were myself, Dyzio and Sally. Was a grand night and we were all in good spirits til we all mentioned that we had prior engagements so would not be going on the actual run!!:smt101
So much for that idea!
However we waited to see if anyone would show and by 6.30 decided that Sally's rumbling stomach was making folk look for thunder, so off to find grub. ( not that hard really with a BK right down the road and Sally already making a bi-line for it).
Settling down we discussed all the world and it's problems and after nuch debate came to too few conclusions that were really quite irrelevant to anyone else so er, we got some grub....
Folks decided to head off, for Dyzio and I it was homeward bound, Sally however had an exciting night of volley ball arranged, (he does play these rough games).
The banter was great the ride non existent but sometimes that's enough, for anyone else in and around aberdeen, get yourself down to our usual spot and feel free to join in!!
Hope to see Ad53 and Baz back next week, Ch3ud and his ickle brother might grace us with their presence. Nice clean bike I noticed on A certain street of Aberdeen, wonder if it could be someone I know?
Cheers:smt026

Anyone up for a ride from Stoney to Alford via The Slug Road tomorrow at about 5 or 6 ?
Worked out I am going to aim to avoid commuter traffic.
Anyone free?
Bad news SK, I was told by Sally yesterday that the Slug is being resurfaced :(
It's not the whole length but you'd have to ask him about the details.

Erm one reason only - I'm going to be knackered!!!
Tonight I do London to Preston.
Tomorrow I do Preston to Musselburgh, then to Kirriemuir, then to Alford
Monday I have to do Aberdeen to London...
Thats over 1k miles WITHOUT adding whatever I do on Saturday onto it.
Braemar would be great - in fact I wouldn't be that unhappy if I ended up going there on Saturday, but may be a bit much for the journey to get there, even tho its only 20 miles/half an hour longer...
Braemar sounds good if its nice, the HH is there, any excuse to visit there :p
:)
Hi SK,
Fettercairn road is fine at the moment, just expect it to be a bit gusty at the top for the weekend, according to weather reports, am around tomorrow throught the day but must be back ofr a 50th at 6pm, so if it fits PM me and we can meet up.
Cheers

Dunno if I can make it toady, still knackered after the Peaks ride, 1100 miles door to door.
Bikey needs some tlc, a service and probably a chain...
Speaking of which, anyone knows how to fit a chain and sprockets (and has the riveting tool thingy)?
Sally, your bike sounds louder every day :D
Hey folks, just to day will def be there tonight. Decided as it is gusty and all to try out the textiles and see how they fare.

Oh and you need to go tonight, if only to get your spacers back from Sally :p
Dont bother posting them - I'll get them some time :p - or have the boy drop them in to Alford Post Office and I'll get them at Christmas or something - lol
 why?
Did the boy forget to show up or take them?
That's it Sally, I was suppose to order you a nice blonde but now you'll get a black male stripper on Friday!

He showed when he was supposed to - just forgot to bring them on Saturday - and he may have had them on Sunday, but I forgot to ask :p
I took them home on friday, as I went back to see the parents..
And forgot to take them out on the saturday run..
And forgot to give them to SK at the Alford bike show.
Will be posting them down anyway, since I forgot.

yes and yes...
yes and yes...
you coming today?

chav! :D
em... actually im sorry mate but im not, when were you wanting it by? doing it is pretty easy
I need to change oil and filters first, so not in a rush.
Would need to buy parts, and I'm trying to find a +2 rear steel sprocket (JT only do +1). So sometime next week maybe.
For more top speed? Or Better acceleration? These things confuse me.
I am not a chav, just sometimes chavvy.
Bigger rear and smaller front mean less top speed but better acceleration.
Smaller rear and bigger front, mean more top speed butt less acceleration.
I'm opting for the first, but only for a larger rear. I could do one down on the front (which is easy and would solve my problem) but the smaller front sprocket causes more wear on the chain, and I don;t wan't to do a Nick Thegr33k style stop.
I'm not complaining about the lack of acceleration, it's just that the gearing on the falco is very low, ie 30mph in 1st means it roars like f****, but in 2nd the chain will slap against the swinger.
Sounds good, you making it tonight?
Stil good for Friday?
It's looking like Siberia vodka bar for 7pm, or just come to mine when I finish work?
Aye, I might pop down around 6 after all, but just for a moment, something like an hour or so.
Friday still looks ok :)
Good just pop accross the river if you want.
Will see you tonight around 6ish.
I will only be there for an hour-hour and a half too.
