Hi all

Price drop to £1350

I'm selling my black curvy SV650S (V plate) as I need the cash to rebuild my flat. It's got 26k miles on the clock, is taxed until end of July 09 and is MOTd until 27 November this year. It's currently outside my house under a cover in SW London.

It's got nothing wrong with it at the moment - recently I had a small oil leak that was traced to a loose hose - this has been fixed and the bike has been cleaned up.

The chain and sprocket set has been replaced in the last 1500 miles; I think the tyres (Conti Road attacks) have had about 3000 miles put on them.

New high rated YTZ12S Yuasa battery - kept in shape with Optimate (not included)

The exhaust has been replaced with a Fuel Titanium can with removable baffle (it sounds _awesome_ without the baffle in...). I've still got the original exhaust, but you don't need it to pass the MOT as the Fuel can is stamped (as long as the baffle is in!).

I've replaced the OE screen with a Fabri dark smoked (almost black, see pictures) DB screen. Still got the original screen as well.

I've taken off the rear seat and pillion grab rail and put on a Suzuki seat cowl. Obviously I still have the rear seat and grab rail!

I've also removed both pillion footpegs, and have put on a custom shaped and sprayed can hanger to support the exhaust. See the pics - it looks great. I've also sprayed the infills under the main seat to match the paintwork on the body and can hanger.

Small number plate which has never had any problems with the police or MOT - I think I've got the original plate somewhere as well.

R&G crash protectors have been fitted to the engine, which have never had to be used :)

The indicators on the front have been replaced with Motrax mini indicators; the rear indicators are mounted on the body of the rear chassis and the numberplate hanger has been drastically cut back to tidy up the rear of the bike.

Replaced the original lights with new Philips blue-white, and the "sidelight" is an LED unit.

There's a Datatool Veto Evo alarm system registered with Datatool and with all the keys and codes. It's also been Alphadot'd and registered.

All the original paperwork, manual, service history, all original Suzuki keys (including the red master key), V5, MOT and tax history are available.

I'll also throw in the Haynes manual, an Oxford Stormex cover (really good, no problems in the recent inclement weather) and 1.5m Motrax chain.

I'm looking for £1350 now - but make me an offer!

Why not buy another one? Mine's in the coolest colour, even if yours appears to be in the fastest...

would you consider selling the seat cowl separately?

Hi Brains.
Not after buying i'm afraid, but a question about the seat cowl, is it a standard item that fits without any mods (apart from removal of the grab rail)?

cheers

Darren

The seat cowl doesn't even need the grab rail removing (but I did because it looks better...), it just clicks in exactly like the rear seat normally does. You get a bit more storage too.

I'm open to offers people...

Sorry, meant that I'm open to offers on the bike! Don't really want to split it, but would probably be after £50 inc postage for the cowl - it's really hard to come by the OE cowl for the curvy these days, took me ages.

Hi.
I'm new to the forum, having being referred here by a link (on a thread about where my next bike's coming from) on another forum (http://www.therevcounter.com/motorbike-chat/22108-damaged-repairable-where-buy.html).

I'm sincerely interested (in buying the bike itself, not bits thereof :p) - this is the sort of bike I've been looking for for the sort of money I'm looking to spend.
Is the bike still up for sale?

BrainsOnToast
18-09-08, 06:35 PM
Indeed it is - was just about to put it on ebay though!

Would you like to know anything more?

My only question is how would I get the bike from Wimbledon to Sheffield?
I can pay cash, of course .

BrainsOnToast

Apart from riding it (which might take a while - Google maps reckons 3.5 hours), I guess you'd be looking at about £100 to £150 for it to be delivered by someone with a van or trailer?

Test riding might be tricky too; you could get the train down to test ride it and then ride it back if you want it (you will, it's ace), although that would make it hard to take the cover and chain and spare parts back.

Cash is nice. I like cash.

RS250-Squid
18-09-08, 06:44 PM
To ride it back I'd need to get insured on it (I'm currently insured on one bike, coincidentally also powered by a twin suzuki engine) which would be a whole load of malarky.

Um. Right. How am I gonna sort this one out then :(.

How many bits does the stock suzook exhaust system break down into?
Just wondering if I can get someone with FC insurance to collect on my behalf.

BrainsOnToast
18-09-08, 07:58 PM
Don't think the stock exhaust breaks down any further - TBH I'm not sure it would go back on as I think the original exhaust had to be cut off to get the Fuel exhaust on. It was done before I got the bike - I only took the exhaust so I had it, but have never needed it - the Fuel exhaust is completely road legal with the baffle in.

If you still want the exhaust, I could get it posted up to you after you've bought the bike, along with the OE screen, seat and various other bits? Would probably be about £35/40 ish I guess?

RS250-Squid

If the full system is MOTable (if you like), then there's not really any point getting you to bundle the silencer and stuff up and send it up after the bike - I prolly wouldn't get £35/£40 for it (no I haven't checked, but I suck at ebay), so that's not a problem - the other stuff should fit in a sturdy backpack.

I'm having a word with a mate on another forum who i'm trying to get to go down and inspect the bike on my behalf - he's offered to take me down pillion but i really really really really really hate the thought of going pillion (having never done it) for 3 hours.

Getting the bike from A-B is still the issue, but that's something that I'm working hard at sorting.

BrainsOnToast
18-09-08, 08:14 PM
The full system is MOTable - I've had it through one and the guy who I bought it from had it through as well -I agree there's not much point in the silencer. It's fugly anyway!

3 hours of pillion doesn't sound like fun. Unless your mate has a big Harley or a Goldwing :)

Let me know once you've got the A-B sorted and I'll make sure I'm in for someone to come see the bike when they can.

I MAY (in big capitals) MAY be able to get someone to take me in a van down there. if so, problem solved.
but it's a big may (as in "he did last time when I picked up my RS from Bedford") but it is a big favour to ask a pal.

Two flaws:

1 - There's a backrest, so you couldn't fall off the back
2 - whaddya mean, HGVs behind ??

The good news is that the interested buyer has been in touch, saying he will have a word with his mrs.

Bad news is that I can't find anyone willing to get a van down to wimbledon :(.

Get the train down and ride it back - thats what I'd do! After the price of the van, buying your mates lunch for driving and fuel works out same price or less. Or get one of them couriers off ebay to do it but will cost about £100-150ish

Nothing like being thrown in the deep end ;) Just don't pick it up in wimbledons rush hour - happens about two weeks a year coincides with strawberries being on sale

Yeah, it's a pain for the middle of June and between 8 and 9 each day when the Chelsea tractors are out dropping their little darlings at school, otherwise there's no traffic to speak of.

And if you ride back through central London you're not going the right way really.

Took it out for a quick blast yesterday, everything's cool with it. Forgot how much fun it was... :( ho hum, next year I'll have to get me the Ducati Monster that I've been lusting after.

It's dead simple getting here, easiest thing is round the M25 and down the A3, it's like three turns you need to make.
