You're probably putting it in too far and the auto-cutoff is activating on the nozzle when the fuel touches it.
While you're sat on the bike with it upright: you only need about 1" of the nozzle inside the tank, squeeze till it cuts off, then pull it out so its just touching the lip and give a gentle squeeze to brim the tank.
If you're not the sort that likes to sit on your bike when fuelling, then this is my method - I stick the nozzle in and push it over towards the left (so the end is pointing to the right). Doing that, you're spraying the fuel into the airy side of the tank while it runs around to the opposite side, which should speed things up.
The pointy's have a smaller filler neck inside the tank so you don't get the wrong nozzle I assume - different to the curvy - I fill mine up sat on it, but you can't bloody see when it's full so you have to back the nozzle out a bit so you can see - as long as you are careful - you can do it and see where the level is.

ok, thanks guys, ill try again ina coupel of days :)
actually, while we're on this subject ,what sort of mileage should i get to a full tank?
I just got 170 ish or 165 before flashing light. But i'd been riding like a girl all afternoon. Generally get 140ish when riding more normally.
I had that fuel thing too, i just bring it out slightly, but not so much that it goes all over the OUTSIDE of the tank :/ ahem, not that I ever did that you understand.

i dont sit on my bike when i fill it up will that make a diffrence and soz for being a lil off topic do i need my bike run up on a dyno with the k&n + the zorst
around 150, unless i am out stunting... in which case i have no idea.
i too sit on mine while pumping :)

Filling up while sat on it allows you to keep the bike (and hence the tank) more vertical and as such allows you to squeeze a bit more into the tank; not a whole lot of difference tho. I've noticed petrol stations occasionally think you're about to do a runner if you do this though.
As for resetup with k&n and exhaust, assuming you're talking just a replacement drop in air filter into an unmodified air box and a slip on end can rather than a full system, my hunch would be that no new setup is required.

Hmm, I'm only getting about 100-110 before the light, but that's mostly commuter miles into and out of town, never getting above about 40mph. I'm a bit of a wimp and haven't ever let it run dry so I dunno how much i'd actually get out of a full tank.
You've just got to raise the nozzle a bit at first, and then as it gets towards the top, raise it some more and don't squeeze as hard to stop it tripping the back pressure on the pump.
Wouldn't sit on it and bim it by the way.. It'll just go down the overflow as you turn/lean.
On the Kwak i can get 155 till fuel light if i am taking it easy with my Daughter as pillion. so that is probably about a good 177-180 till dry maybe more.
Even when riding a bit more briskly i can get 140-150 till bone dry.

i get that 2 :(
well, on the way back from work today, fuel light flashed, so i pulled in to the next petrol station, which luckily was about a mile away. i put in £14 worth, and that filled it. also, i had the nozzle in to the left side of the tank (i was still sat on it) and it seemed to fill much better than the other day.
so, next question, how much fuel is there when the light first starts flashing?
i need to work out how to set my trip first, then i will see what im getting to my tank.
at the moment, im gunning it, kind of un-intentionally, as i dont realise how fast im going. im still unsure as to whether the speedo is reading correctly. is it likely to be out?

i just got 150 and that included my blast to brighton and back on sunday.
But the light came on and went off depending if i was on a hill.
just set your trip B to 0 every time you fill up, and then use A for what every you want.
good point how much is left when the light comes on solid, and how much when it flashes??
