View Full Version : Fitting Indicators
Have had a search through the forum but struggled to find anything.
Anyway, i had to replace my front indicators last year and have had mis-matching indicators ever since. Now i am having some trouble with the bulbs going and randomly the one side stopping working. I was just wondering how easy is it to fit simple after market indicators.
I'm generally awful with stuff like this. Is it simple enough to complete myself (limited knowledge) or am i best to take it to a dealer by some indicators there and get them to fit all four??? Thanks for any advice in advance.

I am selling a set of four mini indys as you saw on our bike. All come with the wiring to comnnect into the standard loom. That's the way to do it. Cut the wires from the indys before the connector. That way you can always replace the OEM ones. Tis easy to do. Just takes patience and an electrical crimp tool. You'll need to take off the front fairing side panels, but you should be able to thread the rears through without dismantling. On the front you may need a plastic or metal plate to fix them to after taking of the OEM ones. I bought ones for a Yamaha I think it was.
Pic shows a rear and the front in situ.

LOL I had to buy a new set of indy's after one fell off on the motorway (turns out it was glued on). Managed to pull the stud out of one of then when fitting it and had to use the other indy. Anyways I'm sure all you will need to do with your current indy's is check no bulbs have gone and get a relay suitable for the wattage.
Indy's are easy enough to fit like above just make sure you wire them up correctly and don't overtighten them.

Yes Vardypeeps has a good point. I've had two aftermarket Indys seperate. They don't seem to bond the metal rod in. The second one I was particularly careful not to overtighten but it still broke.

At least they where only £15. Might get some of those dinky winkers that motrax do that are metal. Had some on my Bandit and they where great.

The connector? Is that (starting from the actuall indicator) before or after the red plastic tube??? Sorry, i am a total idiot with things like this.
I try to find as much as possible out though :study:
