Time for some new boots but not having a pot to p*** in I've been looking on fleabay and am basically considering
Continental Contiforce
Continental RoadAttack
Continental ContiMotion
Metzeler MEZ4
Michelin Pilot Sport
I've no experience of any of these tyres whatsoever as I've only ever used Dunlop D220's and Bridgestone BT020's. I use the bike every day whatever the weather, and have been getting twice the mileage out of the BT's than I have managed with the Dunlops. I would be greatfull for any advice as to which of these tyres are any good or if they're all crap. Thanks in advance.

Have a look here (http://forums.sv650.org/forumdisplay.php?f=138) for feedback on tyres...

The problem with tyres is everybody prefers a different one, what suits you and your riding style might not suit anyone else. It is a personal preference, you need to find the tyre that suits you.

For the SV any sports touring tyre is more than enough; I prefer the Avon Storms followed by the Avon Azaros over anything else (I do not work for Cooper Avon before anybody asks, but I have tested tyres for them).

Aye ,have heard/read good things about them on here but lack of funds/need for mot means I need a cheap set that I can chuck on the bike, just don't want to buy a set that might chuck me off the bike.

IMO get Pilot Road 2's. You wont gain anything with sports (PS2's etc) rubber unless you are tracking it!

I take the sports are rite soft compound then, trouble is they're in my price range, as are the others I've listed above , but the PR2's are a bit pricier. . . . squeeks as he walks:rolleyes:

RoadAttacks are cheap. Mixed reviews, definitely not the benchmark sports/touring tyre, but I like them, confidence inspiring and a nice deep tread, should last me a while.
I had a pair fitted for £140ish. Bargain. State your location and someone should point you to somewhere good, unless you already know somewhere, but if you're looking at ebay I'm guessing you don't. I couldn't have got them any cheaper through ebay, most pairs go for £140 + p+p, and then you have to have them fitted.

Road attacks 135 on ebay. Am in Billingshurst, W.Sussex, got a tyre fitters bout a mile down the road and am looking at about 160+vat (fitted, ride in ride out)for Avon Storms and am considering these if all the others I've listed are s***e.
