Does anyone have a rivet tool? my chain has just doubled in length and is slapping all over the place so I have bought a new chain and sprockets. Sadly the meet is a no go unless I can get the new one on in time :9. Its not a split link, how do I get to the motorbike place to rivet it without the end bit falling off?

So you found where that funny noise was coming from then?! ;) Is there somewhere really close that you can limp/walk your bike to?

How about this place? He is just off the Iffley road.

Re chain rivetting......

Aparrently some people "Do it with a ball-peen hammer"

Like whoever did the chain on my 400.

Say "Apparently" cos I've never joined a chain personally with anything other than a split link so know nothing.

This post is totally useless.

what the hell is a ball peen hammer?? And do I have one? Probably not. The probalem is, although Dave Clarkes is near Phil, I have just finished work (6:25) so there is no way I can get round to Phil's, and change the sprockets and chain then find an open bike shop. Once i have done the work on a weekday there are no places open. Didn't realise it would be this hard.

Also someone cloned my card in the states so I have no money til they send me out a new one :(

Where abouts do you hold the pub meets? Most of the pub meet threads don't seem to say!

I'm trying to work out whether I'll start popping along to the Thames Valley meets or the Guildford meets!

That's a bit rubbish - can't find it either; I blame the Ape.
Anyway it's every other Tuesday at "The Shire Horse" in Maidenhead.

Thanks for the info guys and gals!

I'll probably try and go to both a few times, but I'm leaning towards the Thames Valley ones at the minute purely because on Thursdays I'm in Southampton all day till about 7pm! :(

Just want to intergrate myself a bit more within the Org :)
