Give me a little while....I'll read the posts a fill in all the blanks.

Sunday 12th October, looking to start about 10-10.30

I'd be looking to hook up with some others before then at Peterborough....the services on the A1/A605 would be good.

This is sort of the route. Last time I did this we met at Sycamore Hardly Drivingson and finished with a cream tea at Rutland Water. But will take suggestions.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&sa...,0.884399&z=10 (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&saddr=A6003&daddr=A4304%2FSt+Mary%27s+Rd+to:A607%2FLeicester+R d+to:52.673051,-0.675316+to:Normanton+Rd&hl=en&geocode=Fc6XIgMdsvf0_w%3BFeC_IAMdTvfx_w%3BFUAfJQMd KG3y_w%3B%3BFUtEIwMduXn2_w&mra=dpe&mrcr=2&mrsp=3&sz=12&via=3&sll=52.659101,-0.672226&sspn=0.096209,0.2211&ie=UTF8&ll=52.648063,-0.575409&spn=0.384934,0.884399&z=10)

Hi K.....could you please sticky this and I'll add the details.

Do you want to sticky this BBD.? People don't always look in that section. It's not as if there's loads going on in here.

BigBaddad
19-09-08, 08:11 AM
point taken Pete.....what do you think about start and finish points?

plowsie
19-09-08, 08:17 AM
I'm'a coming! Midland Superbikes to Midland Superbikes is good but people will prob think it is a rubbish idea

BigBaddad
19-09-08, 08:29 AM
Good idea plowsie....but I think that it might be a little to far for us EAR lot as a start/finish point. Poor old Skip lives way out in the sticks and that must be about 2 hours for him to get there.

plowsie
19-09-08, 08:37 AM
Okay so the Harley dealers anygood? Or is Melton closer?

petevtwin650
19-09-08, 09:02 AM
A lot of you know that I like Midland Superbikes, but as a start or finish point on this run I don't think it's a goer. We can stop there enroute if peeps want. No problem. Pad the run out a bit timewise.

I still think personally that the Harley dealers Uppingham for the start and Rutland Water for the finish.

92 miles to Sycamore Harley for me - but I can live with that :D

Will double check that I am not double booked but I should be ok :)

Is it just me or when clicking on the linky for the map it shows you the middle of the Irish Sea? Quite near Isle of Man so quite fitting :)

I'm so gonna try and get me knee down on the Road of Bones! 3 times down it, its gotta be tried.

Mr Speirs
19-09-08, 11:40 AM
Egypt??? Now he's trying to send us to Egypt!!! Na kidding. Looks good to me. I thought road of bones was in Norfolk tho?

plowsie
19-09-08, 11:42 AM
Nar mate on the route it is the B664, the run from Market Harborough to Uppingham.

Mr Speirs
19-09-08, 11:44 AM
Furry Muff. Looks like us fella from Northampton will end up doing the B664 3 times that day :)

petevtwin650
19-09-08, 11:45 AM
Road of bones is the B660 near Grafham Water.

The road from Uppingham has the hump backs on it and a couple if interesting hairpins.

Just as much fun to ride but in a different way.

Ooooooh - if you are popping in to Midland Superbikes - can you guys take a look at the dinky little ZXR 400 they've got on their website for me.

I had one years ago and it was great fun - OK, so I doubt I'll be in the market for another until Christmas... but hey - it's doesn't hurt to get someone to do your window shopping on your behalf.

Looks like Michelle's good will has been over ruled and they won't replace the discs as it's a modified bike. So I shall call the ***** in charge tomorrow to try and sort this out.

And I've just paid 50 quid for a few rubber ****ing washers, to sort out my calipers. Daylight robbery.. Sigh.

Weather for the next 5 days:

Generally dry for much of the time, but cloud and a little light rain is expected to spread southwards across the area later on Saturday or on Sunday.
Fingers crossed that "light rain" goes away :)

Mr Speirs
08-10-08, 11:17 AM
Just checked weather and the light rain is meant to be on saturday night. I reckon that'll change later on in the week.
I personally am not too bothered.
Recently went out on NW4 in damp/wet conditions on the Sunday Morning and had a blast. Felt so confident and found myself at the front and marking junctions twice. The previous day in the dry I didnt get near the front. Maybe 5th max?

I checked my recorder for footage and as I expected it shutdown just as we left the stops. I investigated it and the problem was due to the power cable disconnecting. But I did get piccys which I will upload.

We're back. Thanks very much guys. We both had a great day. Was a nice first ride for Kerri and nice first 2up ride for me.
Top of the Pops.
Nice to see some of the Ducati lot. That 848 was amazing!!! I want one. Now.

Got back about 4:30 after a bit of a detour  Had a good hoon home though once I got about 30 miles away

Good to meet everyone old and new - the Ducati lot were pretty cool too - I think we could allow them again in the future - even those two up on some yellow thing... ;)

Home safe and sound after we finally managed to drag ourselves away from Rutland. Didn't want to leave, it was so nice sitting there in the sun chatting:D

Great day, great roads, great company.

Patrick...........get that number plate fixed before the next one, or you'll get a spanking!:D

It was really nice to see mates from both sites getting on well and having a laugh:D

Will post pics in Photo's
