Just spent £90 on this delivered and when we opened the box the seat is great. But the base that goes against the seat in the car has no provision to spread the load of the seat and childs weight. In the picture you can see the two arrows showing the thin plastic which is the only contact with the car all the way down the back and slightly underneath, then there is a nice wide base which is ok.
The seat has good reviews and looks good quality, so I dont doubt its safety features. My beef is the damage to our car and the further cost to repair it.
All they needed to do was mould a return on this thin plastic edge and it would have had two advantages.
1, The load would be spread and offer better stability of the seat. And most likey better safety.
2, The plastic edges would not dig and easily cut the cars interior. Good job we dont have a nice BMW with leather cos this would knacker that in no time!
I am a moany old git, yes I agree. But should I return this and do we think I have a point.
Go on, tear me apart or agree. I will decide on what I hear here...
