LOL...there's no secret, just do my best to keep on top of them, then when it comes to washy time just clean the wheels/bike with clear water, followed by a capfull of bike/car wax in a bucket of warm water, then rinse off.
After that i shammy down with a special cloth from halfords(not a leather)dont know what it's called but it leaves it streak free, then wax on wax off;)after that i just go round the wheels with the cloth i've polished the wax off with,so maybe thats what brings them up/voila shiny rims:).

No different to my polishing then. Lucky to get em on the bike like that already. If their owt like mine you really need to keep up with them or they start looking a bit naff. . . be a long time before yours do though:-)

Ahh but noticed in your sig, they're chrome, so no wonder...lol

I was almost mightily impressed with the polishing skills on the Alloy there until I saw they are chromed . Not a fan of Chrome on sports bikes but yours is strangely alluring and tastefully done , nice job :D

Looks pretty clean that, not really into shiny stuff at all though, 3 hours spent buffing is 3 hours you could have been riding.

Aye up,another 1 who thinks strips show a persons riding ability:rolleyes:in my experience it's more about the profile of the tyre(ie)these corsa's have a huge arc profile from the rim that there's no way you can fully take them off without having a mishap, they were 3 times as wide when i got the bike & the tyre was/is hugely squared off by the previous owner.Checked out some corsa 3s last week & the profile is a lot flatter (ie)a lot easier to get strip free.

My mate got a 1250sa bandit a few months back,i had rid of his strips fully within 15 miles(flatter dunlop profile).

As for the riding god comment:cheers:yes ive got a lot of experience but have'nt & never would say that about myself....but you just have, so thanks for that!!:p

Cobblers. Sorry, but that is just plain old cobblers. I've seen plenty of moderately ridden bikes on the same Diablo Corsa 180/55 tyres that are taken to the edges on a regular basis.

I was taking the p1ss out of the fact you were offering anyone a chance to have a go in another thread a while back. I can dig the thread out if you like.

Chicken strips are not an indication of a riders "skill level". They are an indication as to how easily prepared they are to lose all they have for that extra bit of scuffage on their knee 'sliders'.

Gorgeous bike, what model of tacho is that? Not standard is it?

It's OEM

Robo, you haven't polished the brake disc carriers.

The whole object of sliding your knee is to keep the bike more upright and keep it on the fat part of the tyre. You can always tell a hard rider by the amount of rolling and tearing on the edge of the tyre tread blocks, regardless of the size of chicken strip or lack of it.

Diablo Corsas are one of the stickier road compounds and quite easily scuffed up, Rob's look as smooth as the day they left the factory, even in the middle where the rear has squared off.

It's irrelevant though, isn't it? My point still stands.

And IMHO, I'd say 95% of riders who get their knee down can easily just lean the bike that little bit more. It's jsut that they want to scuff their sliders by looking like a silly monkey, hanging off the bike. :D

Looks very American. Do you have some kind of link with New York? I see Queens, Yankees and Mets stickers, plus Orange County Choppers, and since they're otherwise a bit random, is there a reason behind them?
The Midnight Club "Dub Edition" video game sticker on the other hand is utterly odd, what possessed you?

Really nice bike apart from the stickers. (imo, to each their own obviously) :)

Would have been good to meet you and whoever you were with.

There was moi, GMS, Tony S and C Monkey. We saw some of the kids jumping in the river - the nutters.

Dam 3 hours of cleaning! Thats long I just don't have the pateint to spend that long cleaning anything, I cleaned all the carpets in the house in less time!

I can't remember the last time I cleaned my bike, it does need a clean however I like riding mine, I will clean as part of the service as I'm checking the entire bike over.

I had an SR 125 as my leaner bike, now that did my head in cleaning that, I just gave up until I was selling it.

As somone pointed out that has a lot of connections with the US any reason why?

I can see a bike needing more time cleaning than riding.......
