passed my test on thursday, picked up my sv on saturday from portsmouth.
it's a 51 plate curvy, in black. smegging love it!
i've got absolutely no confidence in cornering yet, but the bike is so forgiving it doesn't seem to matter if i start jabbing on brakes and changing line mid-bend.
only had time to ride a couple of hundred miles so far, don't want to get off it once i start! (apart from now obviously. i needed toilet)
everything's standard at the moment, going to put a louder can on, and a black db
but i do need the little panel on the left just onder the seat. there was no bolt holding it on which i forgot about and it fell off today. whats that called?
anyway, massive thanks to sam hagger, who pointed this bike out to me in a previous thread. i owe you one.

just remember not to carry that particular habit through into the wetter, slipperier, winter months;)
You feel like that now, imagine if you had gone one better and got a pointy!
Seriously though... congrats! I know the feeling!

well done mate, propper chuffed for you :)
have a look at the stickied post in the "Wanted" section - there's a link to the suzuki parts fiche which will give you the part name & number of the plastic panel

Good choice of bike. Just take it easy and if you have to brake whilst cornering try using your back brake (in moderation) if you aren't already.
Re side panel. You mean one of these?

Only in the much nicer sought after black.;)
Part numbers here:

You will need the shouldered bolt too or just be careful tightening up an ordinary one. You could crack the panel otherwise. Or put a wanted ad up in the relevant section.

Hardly, this is for the Right, presume it'll be the same for the left one. Go into your local Suzuki dealer and order it or go on line and order through Robinsons Foundry. Have it usually within a couple of days. Just cost you a bit of postage on top.

nice one, cheers for that. i tried riding round looking for it after i got home and saw it was gone but i couldn't see it funnily enough. but that's well cheap though. cool
hi dude good choice on the bike the curvy's are great bikes.
congrats on the bike
but it looks a bit dirty? give it a clean it should be yellow
oh its a black one
;)

ha ha ha
i do prefer the pointys.
as for cornering captainsmelley, if like myself, you dont know what positive steering si (is it called that???) learn about it, its amazing!
i was concerened last saturday about cornering too. i passed my test few years back but just to ride offroad bikes on the road, green laning. so, last saturday was the first time i rode a road bike (apart from doing my test). i got the hang and confidence of cornering real quick, which surprised me, cos i dont have much confidence in cornering off road (where the terrain is much rugged and loose).
hopefully, the road bike will help me off road :)
have fun!!!

curse my colourblindness which has gone undiagnosed until now.
so what do you mean by counter-steering? i'm finding it hard to tip the bike into a lean entering corners. the back brake (very gently!) has got me out of my self-started messups so far, but really it's not elegant bike control

Well at least if you are colourblind you can pretend it's Grand Candy Blue. The quickest, bestest colour of all.
Unless it's a Duke, then Yellow is defo the quickest.

well done you. :-)
As for the bike, its a good choice. .Black curvys look particulary nice with lots of polished items like wheels and forks and .. but then so do yellow ones! .. but wait blue ones do too.
Curvies rock:-)
