What muppets.
i did the system check and it came back with #39. the book says that is "39 ECU communication error"...i have no idea what that means
Bit disconcerting that Kawasaki doesn't have a proper error code to say "Your mate's just drilled through your ECU :laughat:"
& I just love the OP asking "is there any way i can by pass the FI light and get my bike running? " as if it's the warning light that's the problem & not what it's trying to tell you
just waitinf for Neio now hehe
Talk about being a bit green........:smt044
I've got a kango hammer and compressor they can use if they want to do a DIY tyre change
just slap a bit of filler in the ECU

It could have been worse. In the SV world it would have been done with with a bread knife. Just a tad too much enthusiasm supplementing the lack of ability.
A costly lesson. Who needs mates. sounds more like an ex mate

i think he was trying to install "speed holes"
With all them holes in there he must have done it red neck style with a shotgun.

I don`t get the fact that he said "He`s a modifier , but he can usually cover up his mistakes" .......... alarm bells would be going off right there . If he drilled the first hole and then moved a couple of Millimetres to one side to drill another I would be saying "Whoah there , what the HELL are you doing" . You just can`t put holes that close to each other in plastic and expect it to have any strength whatsoever without cracking , and I think they were doing a Tail Tidy style thing ? .
That was my first thoughts on the matter , then when I saw the ECU I just dont understand how somebody can just cram and stab a drill right through the bike without causing some internal damage , I`d hate to be that guys first "Girl" I can tell ya .
What gets me is he just drilled the holes and then left, he didn't make any attempt to fit the tail tidy - he must have known he'd screwed up and wanted out of there asap.
The owner of the bike wants the plate mounted right forward inside the mudguard in front of the wheel, not at the rear of the bike (why do the yanks think that looks good, it inevitably looks really gash). It's blatantly obvious to anyone who works on bikes that that area is crammed full of stuff you do not want to be drilling through.
