Dont know if its of any use to anyone at the mo but I just did a quick insurance quote on tescocompare.com and was surprised to get what I think is a very low quote.
1 year NCB
passed test this time 12 months ago
'07 SV650 Sport
£109 TPFT
£191 Fully comp
with bike sure.
Got to ring them in a bit to confirm its correct but seems vey cheap to me. Also includes cover to ride any bike on both types of cover.
That is with a rural Cornish post code though.
Worth a look if anyones up for renewal.

these are dirt cheap bikes to insure, no doubt. mine's only about 100 more with no ncb, no experience some points, a written off car claim and i live near croydon

haha?
my excess is less than yours. i am also quite childish
How many miles did you state you were doing a year, this can put your insurance up as well

7000-7999 miles. A bit precise but the choices only went up 1000 miles at a time. So I went with what I ve done this year.
Nice one, my insurance is up for renewal soon, just got quoted 97 fully comp (protected) 150 excess.

I managed £88 fully comp or £57 TPFT on an imaginary new SV650S.
Almost cheaper than the road tax
Still stupidly expensive for me. Suzuki (express) insurance is still cheaper for me by far, and with the lower excess! :)
