Check this out.
Aged 23 with 3 years no claims and had my full lincense for 1 1/2.
Paid around £560 for my Bandit last year and around £80 on top of that to insure my SV till the policy ran out. On my requote from MCE they where saying £750 with £500 excess (fully comp). Hang on a sec isn't that more than last month.
Right so I went shopping around and got a good qoute from Carol Nash at about £480 with £200 excess and European break down cover for 90days.
I went back to MCE and they gave me a price of £460 with £150 excess and the same breakdown cover.
My main question is has anyone else got any examples of being swindled by insurance companies. Remember if you don't ask you don't get!
It's not really a question of being swindled, It's just they like to make it harder for you to get the best deal.
Glad you got it sorted

Yeah, me too. Got a R1 and last year it cost £900 a year insurance from MCE, so i rang them and said i had contacted bennets who gave me a £500 quote. ( I never rang bennets by the way) She went off the phone and said she could do it for £450, and thats with 3 points declared and protected no claims.
You dont get anywhere if you dont ask

Get a quote from TG Webster.
BB Junior uses them and they are very good. They normally take several hours to search around and ring back with a competitive price.

yeah, my truck insurance was 237, got a newewal quote of 333, phoned up and asked if they could justify an increase of nearly 50%, they couldnt and so gave me a quote of 230! they just always try it on.

It might but you have also hit that magic age of 25 where it starts getting dirt cheap. Just seems like they should give us a better price to start off with.

Unless you have a K8 brand new, you are paying way way too much.
I am 20, 2 Years license, 2 year no claims on a curvy
£170 with £200 excess.

If you are referring to Laura? No, it's your 2 yrs NCB that makes yours so cheap.

did exactly the same on my renewal with the same company,
my policy ended up with the full trimmings (gear cover, breakdown, low excess and all that jazz) and the price was 70 quid cheaper than the original basic quote that they gave me
coincidence eh?

I guess I can always try to think of that as one plus point of getting a bit older ;-) It's just a bit of a pain that my car insurance hasn't gone down as I've got older and have more no claims...it's been around £300 for the past 3 years :-( Just can't believe that the bike is so cheaper when I've no experience and the bike is worth around the same as the car... I don't live in a city which probably helps both too...
