View Full Version : New Bike...
Thought I'd post some pictures of my first bike. This is the new colour which I believe will be available widespread by end of Novemeber. So far I've put about 300 miles on the clock, so still getting used to it all.
I'm not a photographer in any sense, so the photos are a bit shocking!! Enjoy.

Love the stripes... I've been considering stripes like that to break up the plain colour of mine.
The blue looks like the original candy blue that my '99 bike came out with. Nice colour that.

Nice bike, not sure on why Suzuki added the stripes as that is sort of a Ducati symbol.
Race can! Race can! Race can! :)
Hmmm...maybe not a race can, but I'll surely get an after market. I'm liking the looks of the black beowulf warrior. http://beowulf-performance-products.com/images/BLACK%20W%20SV650_FS.JPG
Going to look for a hugger and tailtidy as well, but need another payday first!

Why should Ducati have all the fun, I like it. After all don't the Yamaha XJR1300 also come out with stripes? I would have prefered the double wide lines ala Northwinds bike though. They look mean, just like a dodge viper's.

Loving the colour of that! Possibly looking at getting a new sv towards the end of October - any idea what the name of that colour is?
I'm not a photographer in any sense, so the photos are a bit shocking!!
You can say that again  I never noticed the forks
i love the black forks
And clear indicators - Suzuki are really pushing the boat out!
I thought the Sport came with a seat cowl - did you get one? does it have the stripe?
Shame it's not on the mudguard :smt102

It does come with a cowl, but the dealer still hasn't recieved it. Was told that Suzuki forgot to add the stripe to the cowl so have to wait for them to make some more. I'm expecting to get it next week.

Colour is Blue! :)
Colour code YSF on the sticker in the service record book.
Not sure when this colour goes 'live' so to speak, but dealer reckons more will be available in November.
So far I'm thoroughly impressed with the bike, although it is my first ever bike, so nothing to compare it against!

Liking the stripes, I have also been thinking how to break up the colour on mine.
Is the headlight lens different to earlier models, dont look as shiney or mirror as my 57!
Just browsing and noticed that West London Suzuki have 20 of the same in stock, with 0% finance!

Hi mate. Ive just taken delivery of a new sv aswell, i went for the black one. Ive got lots to do, tail tidy in the morning, hugger due on friday, ive also bought a front mudgaurd extension as the couple of times I have been out the inner fairing and engune have taken a bit of cleaning ! I like the white indicators, where they standard or have you fitted them yourself ? I have been considering the pipe situation for a couple of weeks, I think im going with a scorpion Street Extreme in carbon, its nice and short and having heard some on youtube I think it will sound good aswell.
Im about at 500mls and am getting ready for the service ( make sure you dont miss it, and make sure your dealer does it for free !! ) should be able to open it up a bit more then and see what it will do !! ;-)

Oh, forgot to say, ive just passed my test two weeks ago and this is my first bike !

I quite like them, in fact I think silver ones would look rather nice on my all black K5S

Nice one! I'm waiting for another couple of paydays before I get a hugger / exhaust / tail tidy! Exhaust wise I'm looking at getting a beowulf warrior in black powdercoat!
White indicators are standard on the K9s. Does you bike have the red seat? If it does it's a K8 so indicators will be orange. Both bikes are same except the paint jobs!
I've done just under 600 now so need to get it serviced next week at some point! Dealer says the labour is free but parts aren't, unless warranty covered. So I need to pay for oil etc.

I passed back in July, but haven't riden anything since then. This is also my first ever bike, sadly have to be restricted! :(
Glad you're enjoying it!

Hi mate.
You were right about the service costs, my bike has just had its 500 service and i had to pay for the parts ( £40 ) while it was there i had my new end can fitted, it looks and sounds awesome. Im gonna take some photos later and will post them on here.

Splitting hairs? Meant colour scheme then.

I'm not particularly happy with the way the cowl is sitting. I've been playing with it this afternoon trying to make it sit flush, but doesn't seem to want to.
I'll put a pic of it up later. :)

Mine doesn't sit flush either, I've never seen one that does. I spent ages agonising over whether life's too short to spend hours over something as pointless and meaningless as getting a seat cowl to sit down a bit more and came to the conclusion that it really needed sorting, then I got distracted by a burd with nice boobs so I didn't bother.

Anyone know where to get a stripe decal kit like that? I rather like the main stripe with the two smaller edging ones. least for a pointy.

Isn't a decal kit. Came like that standard from Suzuki.
I'm sure you could get a company to make some stripes for you though! :)

Yeah I noticed it was the new OEM fit but someone is bound to do a kit like that, might take a look at the bike show, looks sweet, mines pretty much the same just lacking the stripe hehe, looks very swish.

So can anyone tell me if there are any changes otehr than cosmetics? It does look nice but really I'd be happy if it looked like a pile of poo as long as it went better than the old one.

Purely cosmetic changes as far as I'm aware. Don't think there has been any mechanical changes.
Thanks

No idea what you mean. Nothing really wrong with the old/current SV but it's due for some mechanical updating in my opinion, I somehow doubt i'm on my own on that one.

Maybe some better suspension parts, some better brakes (they can raid the parts bin for the 4 piston calipers off old SRAD gsxr 600's?)
Mostly though, an overal increase in the quality of finish would be welcome. Thats a suzuki thing overall though, their bikes are crap for finish (although I understand they know this now...)

The finish on mine is okay (1999) but you woulnd't want it any worse. You're right though, e.g. TSM has old SRAD RWU forks on his I think , and despite being 10 years old they're better than the stock new ones.

Build it yourself....
Liking it TazDaz, it does look very good in the flesh so to speak and the stripes are quite neat.
Very tidy bike and should definitely look better with a different exhaust.
Took a pic of my bike outside Josh's house today...I don't take many pics so thought I would share. Was done with camera phone, so quality ins't amazing!
