Hi - looking for a cheapish but goodish Curvey 1999-2001 (ish).

Seems to be a distinct lack of them at present.

recent for sale links on here give an idea of the sort of standard I'm looking for and the sort of price range I can afford.

Prepared to make certain compromises, so if you have a suggestion (and a bike to sell :) ) drop me a line.

Doesn't have to be an Orger - be nice but not essential - do you have someone in mind?

Been looking in a few of the usual places - seen a few decent ones but they all seem feckin miles from me, don't answer PMs / emails / phone, or they are nice and close but have very unrealistic price expectations.

Have just started my Phd and as the new boy in the Lab, I get the "priviliedge" of "volunteering" for the weekend "on call" shift which means that despite getting the weekend off, I can't really travel far to pick a bike up (well its not impossible - just trickily problematic) - bloody frustrating when I have the cash sitting in my bank account just shouting at me to spend it! ](*,)

I would however be prepared to supply beer(several), curry/chinese/sushi/pizza, and a train ticket home to a kind Orger who delivers - plus they get to have a farewell blast on their baby.
The delivery thing isn't a deal breaker - I can probably work around my weekend commitments for the right bike, but it would certain seal a quick deal if that's what the seller wants.

*****Edit***** I'm based in Swansea btw

Swansea - (in case you missed the edit).

I can get the odd bit of time off in the week - but that's often no good for private sellers who have those things called jobs.

******THREAT TIME!!*****

There's a guy local to me who has a Bandit for sale - its a cracking bike for the year and well within my price range, but lets face it, its still just a feckin Bandit - c'mon guys don't let my desire to get mobile get the better of me and force me onto a inferior machine :p

Been checking all of those for over a month now.
To be honest its not the lack of decent bikes out there within my price range that's the problem - its the lack of bikes within 100 miles of me and the lack of response from certain sellers that's getting me tearing my hair out.

(1 Orger (she knows who she is) is excepted from that comment - she got back to me nice and promptly - just looks like her bike will be gone before I can get to her - fair enough)

You can always take the train travel to wherever which I have done before to pick up cars, book it right it won't cost too much!

Happy to do that within reason - anywhere that's on the train routes to get there, and an easy ride back (i.e. M4/M5) I can probably travel around 150 miles - off the beaten track I'm restricted to 100 miles max - obviously the more local the better.

That said, I've not had a bike for 2 years ish, so I'm not super keen on putting an out of practice rider on an unfamiliar bike through an unfamiliar city as the first outing the bike has - I'd chance it for the right bike though.

Do I sound like a ****ing whinger or what guys? - 'pologeez
