I think that the 12th is the first free weekend I've had in 3 months! Nice one Tony. weather permitting (cos I do enough riding in sh*t weather not to do more foor fun) I'll be there.
Hmmmm day after the Lydden excursion.....Probably not but possibly.....

What's with the fascination with Brighton by the way? Good roads to and from? something exciting to do when you get there?
Just curious as I know you guys do (did) go there a lot. Last time I went there the roads were naff and nothing to do once I was there. What did I miss? :(

Weather permitting....your all a bunch of sissy's. ;-)
This one coincides with my gf trip to Leeds so I'm keen. Not fussed about weather as I wanna do a ride before the weather really kicks in.
Could be up for this. I will have finished my exams by then. Could be a good excuse to celebrate or commiserate.

I got a party on the 11th so I doubt I will be in any fit state to ride. Have a great day and hope the weather is good for you.

Yeah ....I might be up for this depending on timing, as I'm proably getting lagered on the Satdee night so I won't be up bright and early!
I'm still interested in attending this one. Going by TVSF standards, there are not likely to be many more before the bad weather really sets in. If I do go, I'm likely to be carry a pillion, just not sure at this time who that pillion is going to be.

Could be up for this from the ace..
Si, my daughter is wanting to go aswell so I would have a pillion too.
I will be going from The Ace.

What sort of time are peeps meeting at the shire horse and then meeting at Ace?
The weather is looking pretty good for Sunday so I may well be up for this and I think my mate will come too.

Still up for this. how many actually want to meet at the shire, as I might go streight to the Ace if there are only a few as it makes more sense to head down the M40 for me???
walkaboutandy
09-10-08, 03:20 PM
Yeah..I know what you mean. Its an hour to get to the Shire, cross country or an hour to get to the Ace on the m40. All depends how lazy i'm feeling!
I'm up for meeting at the Shire.

I'm up for leaving the Shire at 10, and am bringing a mate on his gsx-r.
I very well may need to go via Henlow back down to the Shire. I'm hoping my potential pillion will be ready early.

So long as someone else is going to be at the shire to meet Si +1, I'll go streight to the Ace I think - the shire leg adds an extra 40min for me in the wrong direction really. I'll keep an eye on here though incase people alter their plans.

108 miles in total @ 3 hrs with stops ......
ending up having fish and chips.......ah ha....:smt106
its about time we had our riding ability tested ...... :smt104
Tony, will we be dropping into Brighton down the A23 London Road as I have to drop something off with somebody.
err.. :smt017
yea, :study:
we'll be coming around the A27 then cross over to A23 downwards to brighty ....

had a blast on the way down
shame i went at the front
I thought you guys took a different route to me after i waited at a pub for 30 minutes
Oh well
next time i will stay rooted to the back of the pack
I am back now. Enjoyed the ride home better than the ride down there tbh. Tony, you really need to cut out the farm track for next time.....
I must remember to change back to a clear visor before setting off back next time. Some of the return roads were quite dark under the tree cover.....
Nice to meet a couple of new faces and following the Buell was nice.
everyone home safe and sound. glad evreyone enjoyed the ride, I shall now discard the 'c' road aka single track lane. i think the ride went very well, you know something guys...
.... we really have got to do more of these rides..
... play safe lads, see you all again soon.

Great rideout yesterday.....apart from the lack of elastic trickery on the way down - had a right 'fill my pants' moment as the bike cut out half way through a close overtaking manouvre! Still I made it home without having to replace any more fuses.... or calling the AA again, so that was a bit of a result.
Brighton was sunny and warm with some interesting bikes/trikes/cars at the show, and it was an enjoyable route back...especially blasting off the lights and through the tunnel in Horesham. SV's sound lush!!!!!

Yep, back safe too. a good day all in all. I'll post up some pictures this evening of some of the bikes / cars there. That Boss Hoss was just obscene!
Oh and we need to keep a watch out for tony. We spotted him trying a Harley out for size ;-)
Tony K, not me.
Lets get that clear from the off.

LOL, serves you right.
Go on, get another bike.
You can have mine for the right price........
Ok, i'm officially missing my bike now after seeing this thread..
I'd lend you my Dullsville but I'm now officially using it for the winter. Plus of course there would be the humiliation you would have to go through.

Well you wouldn't miss it if it died from a phantom electrical fault and then get dropped by a stupid AA man! He got it going but its not properly fixed and needs £300 worth of body repairs. :smt019

Ouch! £300. good job the AA are covering that then! Lets just hope you don't have any more fun and games with that loom. at least you know the general area of the fault now.
Nick - Buy a cheap bike and do it up over winter (note I said do it up, not spend a grand on trick parts :p ) You don't need the latest and greatest thing to have fun on 2 wheels.

We all await the next exciting chapter in "Nicks bikes - the ever changing story". Seriously though mate, you know you will have to get another one at some point. just sell the missiz :p
Nick, there is no reason why you cant find a reasonable bike for little money. There are plenty of them out there. Just don't expect too much and you wont be disappointed. Also think along the lines of a mass produced bike, such as a CBR6 or the like. You'll always be able to source 2nd hand replacement parts at cheap prices.
GSXR750 for sale, plenty cheapness...
GSXR, never been ragged at a guess..........

Have you maxed out the points?
Nah, still on 9 til June. Insurance has just come up for renewal though, so that's another year's NCB racked up. The 750 was only ever a stop-gap til I had enough NCB to move up to a thou. My only problem now is deciding whether I want a 10R, Gixer thou or a Ducati (996/998).
It'd have to be an early one (C1/C2?) The later ones are well fugly. A K3/K4 GSXR looks almost identical to the 750 I have, but has plenty more grunt.

Agreed.

How could you, after all the nice things you said about our 996. :(

Pete, yours is indeed a very nice motorcycle (apart from it being yellow ) but the kwak wins on looks without a doubt. Sorry.
I am of course jealous of anyone that owns either of those two motorcycles.
