Is the screwdrivery bit thingy there for scale you ask??? ...

Nope that is what went THROUGH the tyre ...

It didn't let me down on the day, but noticed it was flat when I opened the garage today ... took the wheel off and heard something rattling around inside ... thought it was weird at the time, but took the tyre off and I was greeted with the bit thingy ... yep that had gone right through and the tyre had semi sealed again!!

Just a thought but do you sweep your garage floor?

Why am I always getting it in the rear?
it's a scientific fact, front wheel kicks it up so that the pointy bit is pointing right at your rear when it comes along. HTH

The pick is actually post-repair ... I simply used some chewing gum*

That's well handy. I got an M6 drill bit in my back tyre once, between the two of us we might be able to make a small toolkit soon.

If I ever had a puncture, I'd repair it with ham.

on a serious note why are punctures always in rear tyres?

Does there tend to be more weight on the back tyre?
