I have now made a decision on what bike to get/ I sat on a SV650 sport at the dealers and didn't like the position of the handle bars and to spend another £200 or more to get comfort bars was a no no.
so now I will be getting the new ER6F next year as it ticks all the right box's.anyway buds thanks for the little tips etc. john

Did you ride the SV?
Seems a shame to settle for second best.

If you sat on the sport model and would need to spend £200 to make it comfortable, why not try the naked model(oooh errr)which would cost you several hundred pounds less to start with?
It was only looks that made me chose a SV over an ER6F and, without riding them, I think they are technically pretty equal. So a good choice, buy what fits.

Not strictly true. A V-Twin and a four cylinder engine behave very differently. If you haven't signed anything yet, I would strongly recommend you try to ride both before deciding.

The Er6f is a parrallel twin isn`t it ?
Of course. Stupid me. But they will still behave differently

Sort of. Parallel twin is more vibey. Performance is pretty similar except the P2 has a power-robbing balance shaft.
In practice there's not a lot in it though, have had a fair dice with one and were about neck and neck at around 125mph. F###ed him right off in the twisties though :-D

Yeah, I thought they were a vertical twin... look nice... better than the ER5 in the looks dept.

http://www.kawasaki.co.uk/Images/Base/pixel.gifwell the new ones 09 models are suppose to be better, yes I've ridden an SV 650 the curvy one.according to write ups etc the ER6f are better all round, the performance I'm not bothered about speed as most of my riding with wife on the back is around 70/80mph.ER6F does between 50/65mpg a little more bhp not that'll make much difference.kawasaki have cured the bad vibs etc but all bikes vibs at some point in the rev range.I'd post a picture on here but can't get it to up load.
