View Full Version : Thursday 9th October - The White House Guildford
After a discussion on Thursday we are looking for somewhere else to go other than the Britannia who have bumped there priced up for regular customers so they can keep the Students.
it was agreed we would try the White House
so who is coming to the meet this week?
It's someone's 30th on Thursday and I'm not sure what his plans are...
really!! we should have a party :D lots of banners and balloons in the pub
I'll definitly pop along this week to introduce myself to the Guildford Massive. Had a ride down to Guildford on Saturday to scope it out and see how far it is from home! Not as far as I thought it'd be!

What's all that about?
The students have so much money they only drink in places that are expensive enough? :???:

no they offer deals for the students but bumped the prices up on stuff like food etc.
So where is this pub then?
I think they are referring to the white house in guildford. It's pretty close to where the brittainia is. I may be wrong though!!!
no your right - you drive right past it on the way to the Britannia. its on the corner as you take the sharp right up to the brit.

So you wouldn't ride past it on the way to a GM meet then? :???:

I think it was ok but there didn't seem to be a lot of seating, I know it's not often we get that many people at a GM pub meet but definitely should check out some other pubs. Also being in the town centre we may have issues with parking coming up to xmas and late night shopping

Parking is an issue now let alone in the mad run up to christmas i agree we need to maybe go out of the centre at least until after xmas
The important things to me.
Food - hot and edible, check.
Toilets - clean, check.
Beers - Had some, check.
Parking - who cares I'm on a bike.

I mentioned the Weyside, which slightly further along the A281 out of the centre, and also the Seahorse Inn a bit further out in Shalford, which has a small customers carpark.

Noticed on our way home last night that the Weyside carpark was totally packed (it's not very big), Seahorse looked busy too but possibly more chance of parking at the Seahorse.
Food looks a bit fancy at the Seahorse http://www.theseahorseguildford.co.uk/food.htm

Not really a carpark, Weyside has roughly 3 spaces! There's a bigger carpark a few minutes down the road as mentioned in other thread.
You could look further out of town, I've been past a few nice pubs on my back road bimbles. Something with a nice open fire maybe?

we HAVE to try that place, the menu looks really good and it says that the food is prepared on the premises.
