View Full Version : Has anyone ever won anything?
Just wondering. In a day dreaming moment today I remembered wining a house design competition whenI was about 10/11(I got £10 cash which was loads of money in those days, and my picture in the paper), and a paper aeroplane distance flight at high school, but that's been about it.
Has anyone won anything better than that?
My daughter once stuck her details into a comp on the Nickelodeon website (with my permission). 2 months later a radio controlled plane landed on the doorstep.
She, of course, was far too young to appreciate this so I had to take it off her hands :D
Felt-tip pens in a design a Christmas card comp.. I think I was about 4 or 5.
Runners up prize in ZX Spectrum Mag Crash... I think it was called Tiger Road made by US GOLD... might have been about 12ish then.
A few small lotto wins.. 10 quid and that. To few to remember.
And my rather famous photo on this site won me a little prize too... ;-)
Not apart from a few music competitions I was forced to enter until i was 14 or so..
I wouldn't mind winning a few quid..

My girlfriend won a ford KA when she was 15 so gave it to her nan.
The only thing I remember winning was a large jar of sweets and that was only cos I cheated.
Nothing else springs to mind so can't have been too great a prize.
I won a set of pads for being the club's most promising young cricketer.
Not much of an accomplishment forCentral Scotland :D

It was a prize at the pub quiz me and the gf are regulars at. We have also won some of the free crap that the breweries give out, along with sweets, chocolates and out of date crisps. But more importantly we also have won a Sainsburys carrier bag to take it all home in.
