all this talk of credit crunches and recessions and redundancies is heavy. time to lighten it up, and who better to do it than your hero keithd?

My hero

Ah a very good question, I liked the 24hr race challenge they did but I think the first car/boat challenge one was quite good.

For top laughs the American trip was good

I voted 24hr race simply cause the Stig is rather good in it.

watched the 24 hr race again on Dave t'other night, have to say it was better than i remembered first time round! stig was awesome for sure but that was a race where i thought, "yep, LOVE to do that!", touble is i don't have an ace mechanic as back up, nor the capital to fund such an adventure!!

i've not voted yet! loved the US one....and the Verbier race where Clarkson overtook them on the high street was one exciting at the time...

ooo dunno...

North Pole was the best adventure for me.

The north pole one as it was an achievement as well. the first cars to drive to the pole.

A lot of the challenges they do are pretty good - The datsun one ( i think it was datsun) where they each had to buy one and put it through test eg park it on 33% hill with handbrake, ride of that test track (forget its name) with a bowl of egg above them, fill the cars with water and see how far they get around the track before it goes below the steering wheel.

Most of their challenges are pretty funny in my opinion :)

Is the USA trip to New Oreleans the one where they put Nascar is **** or something like that?

Yes I thought the same, that would be quite cool to do but would need some money I fear :(

The thing I liked the most was when they tried to launch a 'Rocket Reliant' , it gave me the most enjoyment and disappointment all in one go.

I liked the Norwegian one where JC eats "spunk" on TV

North Pole one was superb too - in fact they all were - my missus gets fed up of me watching re-runs on Dave

Not sure which car it was but they tried to race a car vs a harrier jump jet on an aircraft carrier? Car ended up in the sea. That was pretty funny although very short.

To date, i still haven't seen the north pole one. They are all good and have highs or lows. The Endurance race was good as you went through it with them, and Jezza i think actually cried at the end of that, so he showed some emotion!

The one with the climbers and the RS4 was cool, cause he actually got beat :)

Ah yes the african one was very interesting too. Maybe the poll should have been for your least favourite?

America.

"Manlove"/"Nascar sux" still cracks me up. Absolute class.

Aqua very close second tho'. May in the Herald with a mast, JC putting THAT engine on the back of a pick-up, waiting for him to "floor it".

............and Dave rulez.

I liked the one where they had a race to get from one side of london to the other using different forms of transport:

Richard Hammond cycled
The Stig used the tube (he must have been so hot in all his kit on the tube..!)
James May drove I think?
and Jeremey Clarkson used a boat down the Thames

The main reason I liked is is because Hammond won and Clarkson lost (for once!) :D:D:D

Voted for the American one, just because it was a laugh a minute.

Wasn't so impressed with the North Pole, particularly after what I've heard about the woman running the dogs (She claimed she could do X miles a day, which a good team of dogs could do, but her team couldn't)

Didn't they launch a mini down a ski jump ramp???

I liked the Alfa Romeo one, trying to tow the Hamster into the concourse event was just hilarious, I mean all those immaculate Alfa's and Clarkson turns up in his home made spray paint job.:D:D:shock:

How about the tractor challenge where they tried to tow things - getting more points for the faster they go and how heavy what they tow is. I think JC towed a boeing 747?

This years Alfa challenge made me laugh especially as we had bought one the day before! The way they bumped into may and how genuinely ****ed off he seemed.

America and the supercar ones were also good.

What about remote control Vauxhall (Carlton ???) v BMW 5 series. Was that a challenge KeithD? ;)

oh & surely it was a BMW GS that won the cross london challenge (was filming Hamster but didn't get as sweaty as Hamster!) I loved JC requesting permission to go through the Thames Barrier at Speed!

North Pole for me - "We are now in International Waters mix me a G&T James!"

oh, & they definetely bought the cars in Miami & donated them in New Orleans - although some even struggled to give them away!

It was over the Belgian Cobbles or pave circuit at M.I.R.A., me thinks.

Yep, me too.

Didn't I read somewhere they got in trouble for the G&T part? Not sure if it was proper trouble or just Daily Mail kind of trouble, though.

Yeah, drink driving I think. People actually wrote in and complained. Have people nothing better to do with their time and can't they see the irreverent nature of the programme.

It's very amusing, but the whole thing should be taken with a large pinch of salt :)

They didn't actually make it to the north pole.

TV tricked us all yet again.

They went to the magnetic north pole....or more specifically the place where the magnetic north pole was in 1997.

I think it may have been green land.

24 hr race as brilliant. However, nothing, and I mean nothing will ever to the Top Gear Shuttle. I think they should give Hammond & May another go at that because that was brilliant. Their defining moment in IMHO

Got to be africa. Cos my truimph is called Oliver in honour of Richard Hammonds car!

Now, all my bikes and cars have name (it's a girl thing I've been told) and I'd just ordered the speed triple and couldn't decide what to call him. That Evening sat down to watch Top Gear and it was in Africa. When Hamster named his car, Mr Lou and I looked at each other and said 'OLIVER!' and so he was named!

Sad really, loved the winter games too!

HAHA the main thing is there all really great. I really like the one where Clarkson races two guy's on BMX's and one of the lads eats a facefull of pavement after jumping off a ramp ace!!!

I voted for the 24hour race just because they where so out of there depth there and managed to do quite well with the problems they faced.

Judging by the poll results, folk prefer the challenges to the races......
