Looks practically the same as mine!

Ok maybe not :(.

Nice one though, looks like you are so cranked over you lean off actually a lot less than some other people. Rearsets look very far set back too, I'd have stuck my peg into the ground like that!

Rearsets up to the max and Ohlins shock up to the max ... the two combined gives masses more ground clearance 8)

Racehtechs

Not on the R6 - no as it was always illegal for the class ... but yes I have run slicks before ... on Race Ducati 996 and Race SP1 if that is what you mean (i.e. have I ever run a bike with slicks ) ...

I meant in th pic, but you sort of inferred from my question what the next would be.... have yopu ever run slicks!? Do they reallt offer masses more grip than a race supercorsa for example, or are they more for people chasing 1/10th of secs on laptimes?

Reason I ask is a lot of guys here run slick on trackdays. Way I see it, if you have a track only bike that isn't governed by a race class - what would you go for? Is it a cost thing

They wear slightly better.

As for absolute grip ... hard to say without trying one after the other on the same bike .. there is also the placebo effect to consider ...

As you have a road bike and the hassle involved swapping over I don't think you will get enough benefit to go for slicks over racetechs etc .no ..

When Danny was running his ZX10R we did 3 seasons with Bridgestone slicks, and half way through last year we swopped to Racetechs because we figured they were cheaper and we'd seen guys beating Danny on them - he still won races on them.

Danny reckons slicks give slightly more grip, but not enough to bother with even at his level of club racing. He also reckoned that when a slick slides it does so progressively and it's reasonably controllable, but a Racetech doesn't have the same margin for error - when it's sliding like a slick you know you're in deep ****
