Hi guys,

I have the choice to either buy a new front fairing bracket / clock surround part for my crashed gixxer 6, or try and get it welded back together (the top offside corner where it mounts to the nose fairing has snapped). A new one is about £70 - is it worth the hassle of trying to get it welded? I think the part is alloy.

Anyone know where I could get such a thing done and how much it might cost? It's only about 5cm across, wouldn't have thought it would take more than a couple of minutes for someone with the tools and the skills.

Cheers,
Matt

www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum - a welding forum which might have someone in your area who might be willing to help you out - failing that, they'll be able to advise you of cost/company who could do it :)

Cheers for replies guys. It is snapped clean in to two bits, not just cracked. I will look at that forum Paul, cheers.

I've just spoken to my step-bro who thinks he may be able to do it at work but we'll see.

im pretty sure you'll need a tig welder if you're doing alloy? Or am I confusing myself with aluminium welding which has to be tig? Out of my depth
