The Gladius is to run along side the SV650 and SV650 Sport in 2009, now the question to ask is will the SV become discontinued at the end of 2009 and a new Gladius 'S' introduced?

Jeez, you've been here like 70 posts; don't be so quick to lay the "use the search" smackdown. Not everyone reads every single thread posted on this forum! :)

I dont know, I guess the success of the gladius might dictate what happens next... However, I woke up this morning and realised the Gladius actually looks like a depressed haddock

I like how MCN say that its aimed at a more Novice Audience. Excuse me, but isnt that what the SV is/Was in the 1st place? Whats it come with, stabilisers!

My guess would be that the Gladius will be to the SV what the GSR is to the Bandit.

My guess is that the SV will become a rival to the Ducati 1098. Gladius will replace the novie end and the SV is gunna become super duper. ;)

Paul the 6th is very modest - he has already posted a picture of this on the Catherine Wheel Photos thread in Pennine Massive ( about 3 pages from the end )

A spectacular failure? :D
Apparently the SV-N isn't being imported to the US next year, because of the Gladius. It wasn't a big seller there but then, it's not a big seller here either. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the N binned here as well.
Well I like the name anyway ;)

I quite like the idea as then our bikes become more special and exclusive. That's the way I look at it :)

Are they actually going to sell the union jack one? It's minging.
Horrific styling. Thats what you get when these Curvy owners ask for an update.
That brit one looks like a bag of parts put together in the dark.

the curvy sv was a work of art that is well just plain ugly
I don't understand the point of the lowers without a proper screen

The curvy SV was revolting. That just looks like it's meant to take on stuff like the FZ-6.
The styling on the SV is a bit, er, boring.

I don't understand the point of the lowers without a proper screen
You just get the expense of replacing the lowers in a drop, coupled with the inconvenience of getting at the engine, without the aerodynamics/weather protection/aesthetic appeal of a proper fairing. In short, it's about as well thought out as the rest of the Gladius.
Northwind: Yes, it wasn't intended as a compliment! :)
