I ride an SV650SY '99 Curvy shaped in blue! (yes i am very proud)

Anyways, im wondering about my tank range on this SV of mine. Im travelling from bristol to london tomorrow, and need to know what sort of milage im going to get to my tank. Last time i filled up at M32 services, then plouged through to reading services on the M4. I went into the centre of london, then filled up at heston services on my return journey, and again at leigh delamere. I didnt go past around 95 miles on any single stint... Im wondering if i can make it to heston, 109 miles from bristol, fill up and then enter london, fill up at heston again and arrive home in bristol. I went out to hein gericke today and bought a 2L reserve can from them just in case my experiment goes a little wrong... lol.

Any figures from SV owners GREATLY appreciated as it gives me an average idea of how much i should get. All comments appreciated though. I know other factors come into it however - mainly the fact my bike is restricted and it mucks up the fuelling, so might have lower range.

Please no milage to the gallon, just milage to the tank figures! ME STUPID!

Thanks,
Phaelok!

Expect to get 160/170 from a well set-up curvy, I have a '99 naked and I have been known to get slightly more than that before the warning light started to flash (admitedly I was touring at the time and never stopped between fill-ups), if you aim to cover the maximum miles from your fill-up, what I do is sit on the bike holding it upright, not over on the sidestand while filling up,then you get the full available capacity of the tank... fine if you know you're gonna run it off, but not recommended if you're just doing a couple of miles, as you're relying on the filler-cap seal to hold the petrol back .......;)

When I did my 320 mile journey home, I was 130 between fillups on a pointy k3. I may have got more but did'nt want to chance it.

Pointy K4- 120-130 to the light, 160-170 fully empty

... but then i never touch motorways, unless absolutley desperate.

Usually get around 200 miles from a tank with my curvy. 145 miles to flashing light, 175 miles to fuel light on permanently.

125 - 132 to Light on Pointy K3 , managed to squeeze another 35 out of it and ran out of petrol right on the forecourt as I squeeked to a halt at the pump :D

Had over 210 miles and still had 3L left on K5 pointy so I would expect similar...

Pretty good that, was it long distance?

I don't tend to check but usually about 100 miles to the light for about a tenner.

Aye it was while coming back from john o' groats.

Even when I was going for it I dont think it ever dropped below about 160... The benefit of not weighing much I guess

Aye the short stop go town riding does damage the MPG :(

Especially with the amount of traffic lights some of the timings are a joke ](*,)

Miss the MPG i got from the 125 but enjoy the acceleration from the SV

Good parking at the new place (work) though so towns not too bad i suppose

i normally get to 160-170 before the light comes on (flashing) normally fill up at 180-200 - but never had the light go solid

thats commuting and about 1/4 on the motorway

even when i ride it hard the light have never come on before 150
