Just bought some of the below, they are brilliant.

I previously used Richa summer type basic leather gloves that cost me £30......these feel possibly 10times more comfortable and alot safe, the protection is really quite good. The fit is perfect and the adjustment just add to the fit and comfort.

Tried on most gloves available at the moment and these just felt very right compared to the rest.

£100 (i think)

I dont think they were that much to be honest, but they were not cheap £30 chinese lucky lucky near identical copies off ebay either, they wernt over £100 thats for sure. For some reason £80 is popping into my head.

Edit: Just checked the shop website.....they are priced at £84.99

I didnt want to spend the earth on gloves but needed some new ones. These felt as comfortable and unobstrusive as latex gloves, but then the protection makes your hand feel safer than george bush in the white house.

I tried lots of gloves, more expensive and and cheaper......these seemed just perfect for the above reason. So worth that little bit extra ultimately.

they are good i cant deny that when i put mine on it's like putting your hand into two glove shaped volvo's.

Get a pair side by side and you can really tell the difference, I dared a friend to buy some off ebay to see if they actually came, they turned up eventually but were obviously fake compared against some real GP Pro's.....they were not comfy at all to have on either, armour in the wrong places and stiching and cloth folds so big internally it digs into your hands.

On top of that one of the magazines did an article recently on cheap ebay gear in which stupidly cheap branded gloves from ebay featured (amongst other things like full leathers etc)......the 'leather' in nearlly all case was faux leather or and other very low grade materials which could rip apart with prolonged abration.

So be carefull with your £30 ebay gloves.

i am careful, and i known there are alot of duds out there aswell.
But my use has shown ive got some good gloves at bargin price that are still holding up well.

And i looked at a pair in J&S... very little in it ... almost nothing ( 1 bit of stitching had been torn out on mine after a lorry hit me )
Even bought my dad a £80 pair of alpinestars from there ... all i got was a paper bag, whereas ebay gloves came with all offical alpinestar manules and leaflets.
I got lucky i think.

My experience with sp1's ,
The stitching has split on the finger they have lasted the grand total of 8 months around that's about a tenner a month and around about 1500 miles . Not good but like everything I think it comes down to luck you either get a good pair or you don't.

I'd take em back then mate. Split stitching is a sign of badly made goods. I had a pair of Hein Gericke goretex ones and i was unaware of the fact they had a 2yr guarantee since most goods have just 1yr. They were happy to replace them but that range of gloves was discontinued so they gave me a full credit against any new pair. SO i got some nice fat winter ones and i'm still wearing the old ones with the split stitching, not cos i'm tight but i cant find a good summer/race glove that goretex'd up. Something very required for the great british summers

So, do these come in a GoreTex version do you know G?

Off on a tangent,

Just been refunded after having 2 pairs of Alpstar 365's today;

Both pairs, goretex liner came away inside 2 of the fingers. Didn't want anther pair, apparently they have never had any issues and i was the first. If it was to happen a third time they wouldnt of warranted them after only buying them in january, i only had them for around 6-7weeks the rest of the time they was with the dealer. Just finally got a refund today.

Mine are getting some use in all weather, so waiting to see how weel they last, I still have the reciept so when the one year mark is coming up if any of the stiching looks dodgy I'll take them in to see what they say.

Again off at a tangent, butr if you're looking to try some cheap gloves, I reckon these (http://www.southcombe.co.uk/products/motorcycle-gauntlet/79/)have got to be worth a punt.

I've been sorely tempted to try some (can't lose a lot at that price), and if they are what the makers claim then they have to be a real bargain. The makers are glove specialists, firefighters etc, so ought to know a thing or two. Only in size 10 large though.

I bought into the shop reccomendation (HG) of buying SP1 gloves, after i returned the 2ns pair in 4 weeks (one finger sown together at an angle! and the palm stitching coming loose on the 2nd pair) i asked if it was ok to get anything else but the bleeding SP1's (must admit tho, even after 2 weeks on each pair, they never quite 'wore in').

Now i must have spent about an hour in the shop and tried on virtually every make in 'around my size' that thy had and finaly got talked into thying the 365's.............

Absolutley great fit and no problems these past 2000 miles in all weathers, looks loke time will tell.

As an aside, i lik the idea of the Gore x-trafit liner, bonding the gore to th einner/outer has t be better than having a non fixed inner.

A a note to above, the 365 gloves come with a 5 year warranty on the gore liner, so unless the gloves fail totaly, a 5 year waterproof guarentee is not too bad really is it

I took your advice spidey and took them back , I was told that they would have been replaced without question if they had failed in the first month, as they were a few months old they would have to go back to Alpinestars as ""their quality control was so high they had to inspect them to find out what went wrong"" . So they were sent away after two weeks I phoned and was told they had restitched them . I was a bit disappointed as I wanted a new pair, but I picked them up today and they are ok stitching looks good and I dont have to break in another pair so its not all bad .

Well at least you dont have to break a new pair in.

However do keep an eye on where they re-stitched as there is a possibility now that the leather there has had to be stretched a bit to be restiched properly. I say posssibility as i have no idea what or where but do keep an eye on it and the minute you see it aint right take em back and demand a replacment.

Funny thing is tho that no gloves are sold as safety equipment, unlike lids and armour.

I have a pair of alpinestars gp plus gloves and love them. They are a good all around glove which I've used for temperatures as low as ~30 degrees f all the way up to 90+ degrees.

I'm looking for a short glove though for when I ride with my friends who don't wear gear...takes too long to put on gear when your friend is wear a tshirt, shorts and no helmet. he slides his gloves on and rides off...im still putting my helmet on :smt013
