Yet obviously negative.

Haha man, that is so ridiculously rude and anti-bikers, but I still reckon he is funny. And clearly jealous cos he can't get it knee down and was photographed on a vespa. I don't see many Nissan Micra's on his Sub-zero wall!!
I know people don't sometimes pick up that other people have posted this stuff before.
But haven't you already posted this HERE (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=119395&highlight=Clarkson).
Could you not just carry it on?
Not many people look in old posts that have a dozen pages already unless they followed it from the beginning.
I suppose I could have done though
Got it in for me today lol

im amazed how ignorant he is
Looks a like windup but I wonder how many he’s put off making the switch to two wheels for economy?
One of the bike shops I went to at the weekend is spending a fortune on marketing claiming getting a scooter that does 120mpg will help them in the hard times.
Not sure how long it would take to break even myself after all expenditure.

He's a writer. He is simply padding out his boring comment of "I don't like to ride on 2 wheels, it feels a tad dangerous to me" with humour and obvious exaggeration, as you would expect.
I don't think he's ignorant, although it's a bit as if he is writing for the ignorant, he probably knows a lot more about bikes than he would ever let on, thanks in part to Hammond and May I reckon. Crude? Yes. Rude? Yes. Over-doing it a bit? Yes. Unnecessary? Totally.

Maybe, he dosent strike me as stupid, and I can see how he is playing to his market, but some of the things he says are just wrong. He has a go at bikers for not liking scooters, akins it to rasism, but then top gear openly slates many cars. Hypocritical in my eyes.
Plus his comment about gear changing, all mainstream modern bikes that I know of change gear with the left foot, unless they are twist and go.
The coment about the brakes, there are linked and ABS for bikes if you so choose. Admitadly the option isnt there for all bikes, but there is the otpion none the less.

Am quite taken aback by that article.
If you want to ride something bigger, you must take a proper test. But, of course, being human, you will not want a bigger bike, because then you will be killed immediately while wearing clothing from the Ann Summers “Dungeon” range. Oh dear, his wife told him he looked cr@p in leathers, bless.
So, when you are not riding it, it must be leant against a wall or a fence. So clearly sidestands or centrestands are simply objects commonly used by the Tooth Fairy....
Because bikes are designed by bikers — and bikers, as we all know, are extremely dim — they haven’t worked out how the front and back brake can be applied at the same time. How very rude! :smt068
Motorbiking has always been a hobby rather than an alternative to proper transport, and as with all hobbies, the people who partake are extremely knowledgeable. Oooooooh flippin' 'eck, a compliment!
I therefore hated my experience of motorcycling and would not recommend it to anyone. Spoilt brat
I also counted 12 references to death as a result of being on a motorbike, what a pessimist. I like this bloke when he's talking about cars but definitely cars is JUST what he should talk about, he's a complete **** otherwise

Well I thought it was p***-funny, when taken with a large pinch (er, ok make it a handful) of salt.
I reckon Clarkson knows he can get a rise out of bikers by making these comments so that's why he does it.

True enough. But why get as many bikers in the country as possible to dislike you? I hate it if even one person doesn't like me, but then I suppose celebs expect it

Yeah I think Clarkson's media 'persona' these days is a grumpy old man, albeit still a petrolhead. Most of his rants wouldn't be out of place on that TV show about grumpy old men where they were ranting about hoodies and mobile phones etc.
Best just to laugh and roll your eyes in that 'oh the things Grandad says, isn't he a character!' kind of way.

I can't stick the man. I don't watch TG. But I found this piece of rubbish mildly amusing.

he was actually on it.
I love how he refers to the handlebars as a "steering wheel". I don't see no wheel... :)
Talks about death a tad too much...death isn't something to take lightly!
Deep down he came across as a bit of a pussy...couldn't handle it at 40mph...lol

PMSL. Brilliant. Class.
Its a shame they did not film it for Top Gear with him ranting about motocyclers and on his way to being killed in the very next instant.:D

Actually, that was another insult  Do you really enjoy being described as being as knowledgeable as a trainspotter .
But it was also an exceedingly acurate (tongue in cheek) article for an outsider to motorbikes. I mean 3 years ago I did know nothing about motorbikes. All their model numbers were an incomprehensible bunch of numbers & letters, and now I could recognise almost every single modern road bike & know something about it.
So, when you are not riding it, it must be leant against a wall or a fence. So clearly sidestands or centrestands are simply objects commonly used by the Tooth Fairy....
According to TSM yup :D
& he did cover centrestands & provided an adequate explanation for discounting them (hint: he called them footstools)

I found it funny, but then again I feel the best way to take Clarkson is never quite 100% serious.

Well......
in Cazza's case he covered sidestands as well Note to self: when parking to take a pretty picture, make sure that you can get your fully-loaded bike off the sidestand without Zig having to get off his bike to give you a push upright.
