View Full Version : Used SV prices
Just had a look on Parkers and the prices on there are lower than in the market. 54 plate for £2,350 through an independent dealer. 04 plates are up for around £2,800 at the moment although are a fair bit cheaper private. I ask because i'll be looking for as good an SV as possible for about £2,500, pointy preferably faired and candy blue. Am I expecting too much?
No, you'll find something for that money if you look around, particularly through the winter. Parkers isn't gospel, bikes sell for what people will buy them for.
Take your time and remember mileage isn't everything. Keep an eye on the "for sale" section.
Will do, might even put in a wanted ad soon! Loving them with the full fairings, how much do they cost in case I pick up one with just the bikini?

i'd say for £2500 you'll be looking at a 3 year old bike with about 12kish on the clock.
So the 2 I saw today for £2800 on 53 plates with 18,000 miles must have been massively overpriced. The guy said they were ex Carole Nash or something, they had a fair few chips and scuffs on them

Well 4k for a new bike so £1200 off for a 5 year old bike seems a bit wrong.
For £2800 i'd be after one about a year old with 5k on the clocks.

I'm new to all this and I recently got a blue pointy K3 4yrs old unfaired immaculate. Had extended front fender, hugger, heated grips and a fly screen. 16K miles. 1 years MOT, 6 months tax, 3 months warranty. Runs perfectly and is like new except a tiny scratch on the back of the bike. Looks like it was reversed into something at very low speed.
I paid £2300 for it and got a trade in for £750 for my little EN125-2. Which was in good nick and 2yrs old. But nothing special. I looked at a much worse example which a dealer wanted £2500 for. So I think you can get a good SV which is a few years old (pointy) for just over £2000.
I got it from EPmotorcycles based in Romsey, Hampshire. The guy was really good and honest/direct. He did everything very, professionally. I'm going to use him again if I ever want to change bike... Doubtful I will for a while :)

The guys name is Eric Pike - If you buy something mention my name (Stuart Gray) 'cause I'll get £50 for recommending him :)
Good luck finding a decent bike at a decent price :)

+1
I paid £2500 for my 54 plate K4 with 960 miles. It had a few extras, tail tidy, r&gs. Absolutely mint, like new, never been in the wet.
All the SV's I've seen in dealers seem to be massively overpriced compared to the deals on new pre reg bikes. In saying that I'd hope you can knock loads off their asking price.
Dont be afraid to be cheeky with offers. Especially at a dealer, at least get them to give you your next couple of services free.
Fairings are ~£400 new, but come up secondhand at around £100-250 depending on condition.
Miles that's exactly what i'm looking for. I'll just have to keep an eye out on here because people seem not to take the **** too much with prices

If you do buy from a dealer and they cant do anything to reduce the price try getting them to throw in new kit or something instead if you really want that bike. Even a new pair of gloves is better than nothing if you re going to buy that one anyway.

Carole Nash is an insurance company. Sound like Stolen/Recovered or Writtenoff/Repaired :smt044

The way it works is when your own bikes knackered, but there's an insurance claim against someone, you get a rent-a-wreck to thrash the living b0llocks off untill your own machine is fixed.
Haha and they were selling em for £2800 with 18,000 miles on a 53 plate pure cheek, guess someone will buy em though!
