So on the intake of a 4 stroke engine the air is pushed in by atmospheric pressure rather than sucked in by the piston? Well bugger me down dead!

Why isn't it called push-squeeze-bang-blow then?

Anyway, 76% fail - anybody want to buy a tool kit?

Viney
21-10-08, 09:17 AM
Bugger, i done it quickly and got 78%

Flamin_Squirrel
21-10-08, 09:21 AM

I nearly got caught out by that one, but changed my mind last minute. I'm not sure, but isn't it because vaccums don't technically suck- it's that the air in the atmosphere expands into the empty space (hence that's where the force comes from). Think of how things like ram air work- it's an increase in the force shoving the air in, rather than an increase to the 'suck' of the vacuum.

Edit: I got 74%, 2 were wrong due to clicking the wrong option (rushing)and I realised as I hit submit.

Ok, it should be expands-into-the-empty-space/squeeze/bang/blow then!
