Unless it is a super duper all singing all dancing stereo it will cost you just as much to fix it than to buy a new one.
Whats wrong with it anyways?

I'd be tempted to open it up myself and just check everything is as it should be i.e. no obvious signs of damage or broken components then if there are any ribbon cables re-seat them.
Is it a removable fascia?

Personaly, id take it to an authoirised repairer for that brand. I have had good and not so good expeiences with getting stuff repiared by independent local repair shops. Whats probably gone is the ribbon cable that connects the screen to the unit. Its waht went wrong on my step dads Kenwood unit, that and the main plug that connected it to the remote box thingy. I repaired it myself in the end. Got the parts from kenwood, job done but it was a stab in the dark.

Have you tried re-seating the ribbon cable first? i.e. take it off and put it back on. Have a few things that I work with where the common problem is a ribbon cable and re-seating it is the fix.

Why would you need TV in a car?
All sounds a bit Chavvy to me.....

All sounds a bit Chavvy to me.....This comeing from a man who has LEDs mounted on his bike and a camera and recorder etc etc on his bike. I'd shut up if i where you ;)
I have never seen the point of a TV in the car, but they are no different than having an MP4 palyer or such like. My step dads was handy when you were in the channel tunnel or what he used it for, watching TV during his lunch break.

Oh dear I forgot to add a few smilies...........
There are no extraneous LED's on the Zed, yes the sidelight and indicator bulbs HAVE been replaced with LED versions (and all in the correct colour).
SO THERE Viney :p hehe :smt068

Chavvy or boyracer
Both are different. Like comparing a pointy to a curvey
Missis Turbo Corsa has a TV, shes neither a boy/girlracer, or a chav...
Sooooooooooooo :smt068
