Thought it might pass some time and be interesting to see where and doing what people work.
I work at home doing music business affairs like paying royalty statements and just bits and bobs really.
This is where I work, which is much better in the summer, but still:

I work for this company (http://www.inspiredbroadcast.net), generally fixing things like casino's when they break. All done remotely via the 'wonders' of the t-inter-web. Unless we don't have comms, then some poor sap has to jump in a van.
i work for Carillion Building

My lot.
Lots of complaints from unions about the few of us that work from home as they think it a perk all should be entitled to. What they don't see is the company shifted my reporting lines several hundred miles away. That I do not do any work for the place where my office was and they wanted me off their site. So I now work from home.
The thing is it is totally unofficial, I guess the health and safety plods would have a fit about me working alone in my loft etc.

Yep... but there is only so long I could wait. You do all the work and keep doing well, but on the whole the 'group' your in looses money, so you get nothing. Then you hear the companies profit and payout to its share holders while you get stiffed again, you leave.
I liked IBM too, and I'd go back, but I know I'd only do a couple of years again and leave.

I work at the lovely dental hospital (http://www.cmmc.nhs.uk/dental/home.aspx) in Manchester, inflicting pain upon the general populous. I am also in this club (http://www.royalnavy.mod.uk/) because they pay me to inflict pain upon people.
And when I am not earning the filthy lucre inflicting pain, I torture children by moonlighting as a teacher with these guys (http://www.studienhaus-am-dom.de/).
Work for SCA Recycling being an IT monkey. Not very demanding, very relaxed compared to previous roles of Banks and Law Firms in the city.

Gawd everyone seems to have interesting sounding jobs apart from me. I've spent the last 5 and a half years getting the p1ss ripped out of me by a local authority, getting paid lowly admin wages but actually doing the job of helping out and covering for information officers who get paid twice what I do and then getting passed over for promotion twice because despite the acknowledgement that I can do the job, I don't have a degree (doesn't matter what in, any degree does - one guy had a degree in archeology and just wanted a bit of a change!). Happened for the second time last week, I'm sitting giving them cheap labour while the post is empty but didn't get an interview - I did however get to prepare the test the interviewees sat and also had the privelidge of bringing them into their interviews from reception :smt076. I need a new job....anyone know of an elephant orphanage looking for staff???????
