That would be the same NR750 that was recently on ebay and sold for 37K then.

105k...well, it is lovely...not sure about that broken LCD dash though. Probably never been started? certainly not used in anger? if i spent that much dosh on a bike, I'd have to ride it....alot...
First things first though, i'd take the engine apart to have a look at the spam-tins used for pistons :D
I'll stick to the little VFR400 in my dads garage, thats a good enough dream honda for me ATM

Yep its the LCD display thats broken.
Its not the bike as a whole that I love its the Engine. Oval pistons are COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. I want Honda to make a Oval piston V2. Rev to the heavens
Wonder if I can make my own? :p

Are you sure it isn't just the reflection of branches on that tree in the screen, rather than cracks?

Looks like reflections of tree branches to me too.

+ 1, I don't think the LCD screen is broken.

The bike is interesting from a historical point, but was a total white elephant. The oval pistons were an engineering nightmare and the whole concept was rapidly ditched by Honda as a failure.
Now that aint worth £105 G.

Im 99% sure it is a crack. I can remember seeing them on my Scientific calculator and it was the same. How would tree reflections look anything like that anyway?
http://buzzblogging.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/crack-desk_small.jpg How similar does this look?
Had another look at some of the other pictures and you might be right :( No idea how that is like it is :-?.

It wasnt a failue... it was just too expensive and hard to engineer. Ive heard a few interviews where the Honda people are honestly thinking about making some again because they can engineer it resonably cheap. :D
Can't see the corner being cracked on this one greek, give 'em a ring lol. I think its just the reflection / angle of camera on the second picture

Where as this one appears to show damage in the corner

"too expensive and hard to engineer"
Thats a pretty good definition of a failure in my book.
To put it in context, the reason Honda tried this idea was to enable them to compete in the then 500cc GPs without going the two stroke route.IIRC Honda were very anti two strokes and tried everything to avoid them.
These days there is no need for this approach as all the rules have changed.

:)
I would have checked the pictures for stuff like that if I was trying to sell a £105k bike

Naaa. I cant agree :)
It was a good engine, the main reason it flopped in 500gp's is that it was packed out with a lot of new tech. They tried too much, if they had just gone for the engine then it would have worked a treat. By the time they dropped it the bike was making as much power as the strokers and would have probably been more after more development.
They made a 750 for endurance and it actually won a few races with loris caparossi riding it.
Id have one just because you could be getting 20K+rpm easy with one, even a V-win which could out rev and out power a V-4 in theory

Correct, although I would agree with Gr33k in that it is a fabulously engineered engine which did work, but as you said Biggles the cost was against it.

I'm still boggled at how you could seal oval rings. Amazing.

I wouldn't even pay £5k for it .... to me my £5k is better spent elsewhere to get 'more' bike ... but for a 'collector' £105k is not a silly price to pay ... I mean its totally unique ... and unlike a Rembrandt ... at least you could ride it if you really wanted ;)

I'd buy it for £105, thats a bargain ;)
It ain't unique though Blue, there are others in the world and UK. You are right, a serious collector would whip that up and make it there prized possession.

oops £105k ... there are more than one Rembrandt paintings in this world too ... ok, so no single painting is duplicated ... but you get my point ;).

How did they solve the piston ring issue?

Id pay £5 easy :) They are a lot of bike. Especially considering when they were made.
If I had one id ride it tbh.

I wouldn't but not through choice. Insurance would go :smt044 when you tell them the value

Not really so ... insurance is more about your likelyhood of hitting/killing someone ... not the value of your bike ... hence why TPO insurance on a ratty 20yr old TZR250 is higher for a young noob than a fully comp 1098 is for a oldy ...

Dirt cheap,a bargain compared to what they are selling Vincents for
