Onto my 2000 Curvy.
Still to do: Speedo, looking at all the front wheel installations threads looking for the best “factory” look. I do remember,(but can’t find the thread/picture) one that was fitted on the inside of the front fender.
Having tried to refit the upper fairings, the GSXR clip-on’s will have to go, as they hit the bodywork. Have put a request in the wanted ads for a set of TL1000S clip-on’s.
The steering stops don’t work, but until I get the new clip-on’s, I can’t tell if this is a issue or not.

Went out for a installation check yesterday,(without upper fairings) felt very good, especially the brakes, even with the new (un bedded) EBC HH pads.

Can’t wait for a dry day, and to get hold of the clip-on’s, so if anyone has/knows who selling a set!!!!!.

Will post better photos when finished.

Mike

Lack of steering stops is an issue at MOT time. Use of SRAD750 yokes will let lockstops work.

that looks so cool.

have you, or can you provide, a step by step guide to doing this, complete with a parts list?

My dad just happens to have a GSXR750 K6. He dosnt use it much...so i suppose he wont mind if i swap my forks for his...

Gah... search function. :-P

SRAD750 yokes... rest of a 750K6 front end ... a bearing from TWF ... time ... grease ... loctite... magnets ... sensor... etc

Hadn't thought about the MOT.
I will get the the K7 yoke modified, as after reading all the threads, there seems to be issues with mixing different yokes, something to do with offsets.

I know the feeling, reading all the differrent threads was the hardest part.

That looks smart. I thought it was harder to fit later radial forks to a curvy? Very nice anyway :)

No you don't mix yokes, you use the SRAD ones. I think you use SRAD spindle too.

Yes it's not a direct fit for whole front, you need to mix and match a bit. SRAD front is easiest, bolts straight on with just a different bearing and everything except speedo works as standard.

It will if you have a light off, it will dent the tank.

And really hurt if you have a bit of a wobble.

Try there, although I did have a problem with the magnet spacing. I changed the sensor for a smaller one, but the mounting location was the same.

That's the one, thanks

By magnet spacing what I really mean is that my sensor was too close to the magnets causing erratic readings at low speed and a large over-read at higher speeds. A smaller sensor meant that I could increase the sensor-magnet gap so that it worked.

That avatar still makes gixxer front end threads far more interesting.

I am going to copy your setup. Can you point me to the right sensor and magnets, and where you got them, (i think you got the magnets from ebay).
Thanks

You should see the rest... :winner:

Anyway, back on topic... ( :p ;) )

SENSOR - Hamlin 55100-3H-02-A

The sensor I used was one of these:

http://uk.farnell.com/hamlin-electronics/55100-3h-02-a/sensor-hall-effect-mini-flange/dp/5052567

The xx-xx-x part of the ident number defines the wire terminations and length, and the activation range. The datasheet .pdf on the farnell website gives the details.

MAGNETS - Neodynium discs

From here:

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/PowerMagnetStore

The size will depend on how you are going to fix them to your discs. I used disc magnets about 8mm diameter and 3mm thick. I used araldite to glue a small nut one side, then glued the nut into the disc rivet. You can get them with countersunk holes predrilled too

MAKE SURE YOU GET THE MAGNETS THE RIGHT WAY ROUND!

I needed eight, but you might need four - you will need to have a scan through a curvy conversion thread to confirm how many you need.

4 on the curvy, you can get drilled ones and bolt them straight into the rivets.

Here's a wierd phenomenon... warped discs caused the reading to fluctuate at 100+mph.

Where's rest of pics then? :-P

Any ideas where Chris, I am considering changing the rear end of the 800 and this will dump the OEM rear wheel speedo set up.

evilbay. Search countersunk magnets or countersunk neowhattsamaydyne

Ta, I may need to pick your brains at a later point if you don't mind....

Feel free, it's not difficult to do though. Hardest bit is wiring the sensor, the sensor I got gave little clue as to which wire was what.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEODYMIUM-COUNTERSUNK-MAGNET-10-pk-STRONG-10x5x3-2mm_W0QQitemZ190256917993QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item1 90256917993&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C 240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

those will do the trick, pretty similar to ones I've got.
