I've been deliberating for a while ... the rear wheel gave up on my old bike properly yesterday ... so new bike time :)

Oh and I got a £20 voucher/offer thing too, so I got a cycle computer http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/HalfordsProductDetailsLiteView?storeId=10001&langId=-1&productId=196877&TB_iframe=true&TB_C_ID=productdetails&TB_C_TITLE=Halfords+8+Function+Bike+Computer&width=800 ... and some mudguards for essentially only a fiver more :)

Nice looking bike  *. Have you ridden it or have they yet to do a pre-inspection which means picking it up next week?

*I am surprised you haven't started a thread let's see your bikes ha ha ha ;)

Feck that ... I got it in a box and built it myself 8)

It is wet out, but I did a quick nip out on it ... its really fast!! 8)

the bike I was going to get didn't come up to scratch when I saw it in the flesh ... I liked the gun-metal colour of this one and as it is mostly going to do road work, a 'town bike' made more sense :)

As for 'lets see ya bikes' ... feel free to put pics up of your pushibke if you feel fit!! :) ... don't worry, won't be put out if yours is a £800 job!! 8)

I just finished fitting the new speedo 8) ... so took it out for a spin ... and I dropped it*!!! .. un-scrubbed road tyre in the wet .... the front went!!

*well I am being a bit of a drama queen as managed not to fully fall off but the front went, peddle hit the ground and I very nearly went down ... more by luck than judgement I stayed on ... perhaps I should buy a cycle helmet!! :D

Oh dear another trip to Halfords then to buy a helmet. Is the bike damaged  *

* Was the Drama queen trying to get his knee down? ;)

Just a scuff on the peddle ... but falling off (nearly) with <0.5mile on the clock is not a good look!! :D

There is nuffin to protect in my 'ed, so won't bother with a cycle helmet!! :D But it would have given me a nasty graze on my arm and hand as I was only in a t-shirt ...

So what does your bike look like the? :)

At least you were unscathed and fortunate that you have 'nuffin to protect in your 'ed' :p. unfortunately I don't have any pics of my bike. I have a NORCO mountain bike in red which I brought back from Canada . A great bike which I rode across the prairies and all over but haven't used it as much over here  :D

They dont make a 28"

They make 26" wheels but there is 29" wheel MTBs on the market but IIRC norco dont produce any.

Surely Foxy is talking about the frame not wheel size?

Anyway, looks cool ... $1k ... not a cheap one then ;)

Yes you are quite right kind sir :D. I am no mountain bike expert as you might have guessed (it also says 18.5" on the frame). I just bought it as I liked the look of it they adjusted it to ensure a perfect fit for me and it was great on the test ride in Calgary. Had enough room in the car so made my purchase and after they inspected it took it home and consequently shipped it back to UK

Nice bike, my brother nearly got one of those, it's sort of loke a BMW GS- looks a bit like a tough offroad bike, but don't ever take it further off road than a canal path or you'll die :D

I didn't pay $1k for it. Would never pay full price, had a look online to see when their sales were on and went along then. They have great sales in Bow Cycle, Calgary and I picked mine up for just under half the price
