Hi, I have won a mx bike on ebay. I have tried everywhere to find some one who checks numbers to see if they are stolen. I am paying on collection on thursday or friday. I am sure I saw an advert once for checking off road bikes but dont know where, I have tried sites of t+mx news. amca, w/yorks police and acu but cannot find anyone. Any ideas? thanks whitty

Tried DVLA? Though this would only work if it had ever been registered as on the road, if it's never been registered then the Police would be about the only point of contact I'd guess.

if it hasn't been registered then the DVLA won't know about it, the police might help by checking the VIN and engine numbers but people's responses are mixed, sometimes they're happy to help, sometimes they tell you to bugger off which is nice of them. dealers can check the import history of KTMs by using the frame number, they can tell you when and where it was first sold if that's any help...
