surely it would be flawed though..how would it be able to tell between illicit drugs and prescription ones. I personally would find it a complete insult if i was told i could not enter a pub because I wouldn't 'voluntarily' do a drugs test.

I think its a good idea in principal, although suspicious.

I don't really see the problem to be honest.

I wouldn't refuse a test as I have no reason to do so. The test wouldn't show positive, unless it was a false positive. In that case, I'd just go to a different pub.

Moot point for me really , don`t do Columbian Marching powder , Booger Sugar , smokey stuff or tablets , in fact I hardly get alcohol as it is so would probably never see one of those in action . If they wanted to test me they could , but I would offer to jam that machine into their jacksy if they accused me of being under the influence of such substances as that is insulting .

well, you put it far more interesting than i could Badger. Thats why I said a test like this to me would be insulting. I'm the boring one sat in the corner, wishing she could have a pint or two, but cause of medication that I have to take, has to drink J2O:-|...mind you if I did have a pint or two it would have dire results, and probably lead to an accusation of being on something. Mind you, I rarely get out to the pub these days anyways...

....I'm a natural nutty mare anyway, bounce around all over the place so no need for such highs ;-)

I know 98% of all statistics are made up but I'm sure I once heard a random 'fact' that a high percentage of bank notes show traces of cocaine and/or other powdered substances when analysed with machinary such as this... Wonder how sensitive the machines are? Must be quite strong if they can pick up traces from skin. Interesting idea though :)

Still, it's amazing the lengths that people will go to get off their tits these days... someone will work out a way around it. Like washing their hands.

If I recall rightly they pick it up from substances actually absorbed by the body as well as on the skin , this way it can tell if you`ve handled a Tenner with something on it by accident , or had your hand elbow deep in a bag of nose candy or just simply sweating out vast quantities of Pharmaceutical naughties .

ah yeah, didn't think about toxicology and all that jazz. I'd better slow down on the carrot cake then. I'd probably get a done for possession with intent to gobble or perverting the course of sugar

the way round it is a magical stuff called 'liquid skin' used for cuts and burns. its near invisible and acts like a barrier, suppose the cheep way would be pvc wood glue.

yeah it goes all flakey on your hands, they'd take one look at them and they'd think you had some sort of tropical disease, and wouldn't want to test you for drugs anyway:eye:

Oh you are the worst kind ..... you disgust me with your shifty appearance in the street , begging for "50p for a cup of tea guvnor" and then promptly heading into the local Deli for a "Slice" and eating it in a darkened alley with your back to the public . You Filth Mongerer .

ok, so that would flash up red for all bank workers or anyone who handled a fifty in the hours previous then...?

or any money in fact, credit crunch and all that, our druggies are getting cheap.

I think it is more likely to be used in "Known" trouble spots rather than your average pub . I guarantee it won`t be in use at such places like Creamfields and other such spots where some dancey dancey hip wriggling goes on ........ they will have to turn 3/4 of their clientele away ;)

Yeh I bet everyone will flock to the pub with police doormen standing outside it

Yeah , the real flaw in the plan here is people who simply turn around and have it away on their toes in the opposite direction .
