View Full Version : not had a good weekend
wel to start the weekend off sat morning was going to the father in laws to give him some help go petty station to get fuel, fill up and go into pay
well got of th bike only for it to full off the stand (prob my fault for not putting it on correct), fair play
but why the **** did the tank have to catch the side of the ****ing pump
damage a nice line dent on the tank
bent the gear peg and cracked the fairing a little
not bad picked the bike up and still went on my way
then get to the in laws and the heavens had opened up and my so called water proof stuff isnt thats for sure, i was socked all the way to my under pants
put every thing out to drive inc phone
look at phone hour later and thats ****ed
then get home go out in the car thinking that will be safer today, my radio burns out. and now i have just snapped my bank card while i was paying for petty
FFS what next
on the plus side the uncle went and brought a new gold win yesterday, brand new, god are they nice

been there done that, dropped a piece of 4x2 on my tank this year, then sv fell off paddock stand scratching fairing too. not all in the same weekend, so you have my smypathy if that's any consolation.
bad things happen in three's so i reckon you had you lot for a while

fell off bike fucd fairing and brake lever then reversed into by bmw so left bike at home and went to a rally where i was duely run over by a drunk driver in a merc ,dislocated knee fucd back. sv and me looking very sorry for ourselves. so i know how it feels maybe we should hide in the house for a few days and take out shares in a repair shop
Well they say bad luck comes in threes, so you've had your lot. Just shrug it off and dont let is eat at you or it will get worse. I dropped mine for the first time taking it off the paddock stand, first time using one and got it on ok with a balanceing act, lubed the chain then when I went to take it off it just toppled over and I could'nt hold on to it but managed to break its fall with some super human strengh so did'nt do any damage. Will need to go back and read the paddock stand post again to find where I went wrong.
Any way chin up m8, it a fresh week so a fresh start.

Well they say bad luck comes in threes, .
They do, thats why I left my bike in the shed for 2 months!!
First I had on off on that one, then I had the other fall on me and pin me knee first against a brick wall, then on the same day to add insult to injury (literally) it decided to blow 3 fuses in a row, and make me wait three hours for a breakdown truck.
So today I got the first SV back out, and its as flat as a fart..cue dodgy jump starting tactics, [-o<and it rose like a phoenix from the ashes....ok ok, I'm telling myself that cause I've not ridden it in two months
Its sods law with bikes, bad things seem to come in groups and then everything is fine again:-D

rofl that made me laugh, they are really nice bikes (ok cars with two wheels) the most bit i like about them is the fact it has heaters, and a radio lol
cheers all for the comments, didnt stop me going out for my ride tho.
just got the mobile sorted there sending me a new one, result
now got to take back the car radio to get fixed.
what has anoyed me is the dent in the petty tank as i would have been happy braking the gear peg the faring inddys etc, but the only thing on my biek that was mint not a sscratch on it now has a dent in it.
thinking of claiming on the insurance as my excess is 50 i belive

Sorry to hear about this, I think most of us have experienced similarly frustrating rides, but that doesn't make it any less irritating knowing others are in the same boat. If I could go back in time and give myself one bike-related hint it'd be to buy properly waterproof textiles, boots and gloves from the off. Far cheaper/more comfortable in the long run.
NB: Goldwings are awesome and greenlaning them is absolutely hilarious.
